教学目标
【知识技能】
学生能听懂并理解bench, secret ,secretly , as usual, overpass, underpass, rush;
What on earth was dad doing
2.学生能读懂故事并完成相应的阅读练习。进一步练习略读的阅读技能,学习如何有效而快速的获取信息。习得故事阅读及写作的要点。通过已知词汇得出新词的意思等能力。
3.在理解的基础上对故事创编结尾并表演或对部分片段进行表演。
【过程方法】
学生通过视听,借助图片和肢体语言以及语境,在理解故事的过程中,听懂、理解本课的词汇。
学生通过做小组合作等方式理解语篇,最后进行表演作为其成果汇报。
3.课堂中教师将调动学生多种感官,利用视频,音效,图片,以及任务教学等多种手段等进行教学。
4.课堂中教师通过教师的启发式提问培养学生的创造性思维能力,培养学生用英语表达自己观点及内心深处的感悟能力。
【情感态度】
1通过故事的学习懂得感恩,懂得家人之间要荣辱与共,互相支撑和关爱。多站在对方的角度去考虑问题。
2.学生通过课堂中小组合作学习,逐步形成学习英语的积极情感态度。
3.学生通过表演故事能够增加自信度。有效提高语言交际能力

What on earth was dad doing .
新设计
本课是北京师范大学出版集团的故事阅读,主题为:My Father’s secret.文章介绍了小男孩由开始对爸爸的误解到后来发现了爸爸的秘密后情感的转变故事,原来爸爸失业后为了不让家人替他担心而没有告诉家人,当家人问及为何这些日子总回家很晚时谎称自己工作很忙,实际是在忙着寻找新的工作而后在大街上卖报纸为生。后来小男孩儿发现爸爸善意的谎言,他决定支持并理解爸爸。故事情节引人入胜.学生通过回答问题,小组合作学习及表演来加深对课文的理解。又通过教师循循善诱的引导激发学生的情感。从而更好地理解故事。培养学生知道感恩的传统美德。
学情分析
本班六年级的学生接受能力较强,具有良好的学习习惯,有强烈的用英语表达的欲望,英语学习兴趣浓厚。此外,学生还具有一定的英语知识储备,具有一定的词汇量,在阅读英文文章时,具有一定的提炼信息的能力,如略读、扫读等的阅读技能,学习如何有效而快速的获取信息。根据文章上下文猜测新词的意思。通过观察文中插图来帮助自己理解文章。借助工具书及电子字典理解词义等。已会使用一般过去时态进行交流学生能够在教师的引导下,通过思考、讨论、交流和合作等方式,有效地完成设定的学习任务。但由于大部分为独生子,对于感恩培养有待进一步引导与培养。

教学过程
【导入】My Father`s Secret
Free Talk
Do you like reading.
I know some of you like reading.
Today we will read a story.
【讲授】My Father`s Secret
Ppt出示故事第一幅图:“Look at the boy, how does he feel ”
带学生回答后:“What made him sad/lonely/upset
带学生回答后:“Let’s see what happened to him ”
播放故事一至四页。
待学生观看后问:“Have you got the answer 待学生回答后,教师:”Yes. He thought his dad lied.(边板书lie).At dinner, he told mum and the boy he was busy at work, but(此处在黑板贴图)one day after school, he saw his dad sitting on the bench and reading newspapers. Ppt出现此幻灯片:“The boy thought: Why did dad lie He must have some secrets!(引导学生理解secret)把单词secret贴于黑板上。
If you were the boy, What will you think What will you do
Do you want to help the boy to find the secret If you work hard, you can make the boy move e on!
Now please read page 5 to 9 and find what did the boy do
And then work in pair to fill in the blank.(此处ppt呈现练习题Fill in the blank.
(几分钟后)

What did the boy do 带学生回答完毕师:“Yes. He followed his dad.”
此处出示ppt:“T和next day, dad went out as usual(处理生词 as usual)
“What was the wearing ”
待学生回答完毕:“Why was he wearing like this ”
待学生回答完毕:“Can you act it out ”
出示ppt :“Then where did dad go (此处讨论填空)处理生词overpass和underpass。
The boy saw his dad went into an office building。出示ppt, So he thought(引导学生读出) Did dad change his job Why not tell mum and me
Soon dad walked out of the building. He carried a big bag.(贴板书)
师: Guess what was in it
So the boy thought: What on earth was dad doing (处理on earth)
Ask the students read the sentence emotionally.
Suddenly, the boy heard someone say(播放录音)。(出示ppt文字 Newspaper )
出示ppt:“Oh, no! Dad was selling newspapers.”
If you are the boy, what will you do
待学生回答完毕: “Let’s see what did the boy do. (出示图片) Suddenly the boy knew his dad had lost his job. He didn’t tell him because he didn’t want us to worry about him. (此时板书呈现solo的悲伤地爸爸。引导学生:“ Can you imagine what did dad do since he had lost his job.
Discuss in pairs
师把学生回答的关键词写在黑板上。

So do you remember at the beginning of the story. Dad was sitting on the bench and reading newspapers Was he just reading for fun No, he was looking for a new job in the newspaper. But Was he sad when he face to his family members No, He pretended to be happy, right Do you think dad is great So do you really think dad lied to the boy No, it’s just a white lie.(在板书Lie前面加white) Sometimes A white lie could be another type of love.
Can you act out the two feelings of dad.
Now the boy could understand his dad. He found the secret of his dad.(把黑板上的secret反过来呈现lost his job.)
出示ppt, So the boy rushed to his dad and said:“ dad, let me help you.” 处理rush。Ask the students act rush to dad. 体会主人公的情感。
Ppt出示下一张图片,齐读:“ Dad was surprised . He said nothing but passed me some newspapers. Why said nothing
待学生回答后,师总结: because dad thougt the boy has already knew everything . he believed his son can understand and support him. Here needn’t to say anything.
出示下一图片:“ On their way home, the boy said:” I’m proud of you!” Will dad be proud of his son
待学生回答后:“ Yes, because the boy could understood and support his dad.”
Have you ever noticed that there’s something in the boy’s hand. Goldenfish. How do you understand this
Yes, dad made less money. But he could buy cheap food for himself and save the money for the gift for his son. That’s the deep and simple love between dad and son, among family members. So love your family members,because they love you so much!
Now can you give a name for the story
待学生回答完毕师把题目写在黑板。
So I know you have your own idea. Look at the story book. It has no cover. Can you make one for it
Please enjoy the story.
