2. 形容词和副词的比较等级的应用
①形容词、副词的原级的用法
Ⅰ. as … as表示双方程度相同,意思是“……和……一样”；not+as/so … as 表示“不如……”。
The girl is as beautiful as her sister. 这个女孩和她姐姐一样漂亮。
I can’t run as/so fast as Jim. 我不如吉姆跑得快。
Ⅱ. 在程度副词very、so、quite、too等后面的形容词或副词要用原级。
This box is too heavy. 这个箱子太重了。
②形容词、副词的比较级的用法
Ⅰ. 表示两者进行比较时用比较级。
Today is colder than yesterday. 今天比昨天冷。
I think the service of this restaurant is better than that restaurant.
我认为这家饭店的服务比那家更好。
Ⅱ. “the+形容词比较级+of the two+ …”表示“……是两者中较……的”。
The blue dress is the better of the two.
这件蓝色连衣裙是这两件(连衣裙)中较好的那一件。
Ⅲ. 疑问词+be+形容词比较级,A or B
Which is bigger,the earth or the moon 哪一个更大,地球还是月球
Ⅳ. 疑问词+实义动词+副词比较级,A or B

Ⅴ. 倍数+形容词比较级+than
Your room is three times bigger than mine. 你的房间比我的大三倍。
Ⅵ. “比较级+and+比较级”表示“越来越……”,当形容词为多音节词或部分双音节词时, 用“more and more+形容词原级”表示。
My spoken English is better and better. 我的口语越来越好了。
Ⅶ. “the+比较级,the+比较级”表示“越……,越……”。
The more careful you are, the fewer mistakes you will make.
你越仔细, 犯的错误越少。
Ⅷ. 形容词比较级结构可以表示最高级含义。
Li Lei writes better than any other student in his class.
李雷写得比班上其他同学都要好。
注意:副词a little、a bit、a lot、much、even、still、far、rather、any等可修饰比较级。
Tony is a little taller than Peter. 托尼比彼得高一点。
③形容词、副词的最高级的用法
Ⅰ. 表示三者或三者以上的人或物进行比较时,用最高级形式。形容词最高级前常加定冠词the,副词最高级前的the可以省略,句末常跟一个in/of短语来表示范围。
Jenny is the best singer in our class. 珍妮是我们班上唱歌最好的。
Tom runs fastest in our school. 汤姆在我们学校跑得最快。
Ⅱ. “疑问词+be+the+最高级,A,B,or C ”用于三者或三者以上的比较。
Which country is the largest, China, Brazil or Canada
哪个国家最大,中国、巴西还是加拿大
Ⅲ. “疑问句(+the)+副词最高级, A, B, or C ”用于三者或三者以上的比较。
Which season do you like (the) best,spring,summer or autumn 你最喜欢哪一个季节,春天、夏天还是秋天
Ⅳ. 表示“最……的……之一”时, 用“one of the+形容词最高级”结构,该形容词后面的名词要用复数形式。
Tokyo is one of the biggest cities in the world.
东京是世界上最大的城市之一。
Ⅴ. 最高级前面可以加序数词,表示“第几个最……”。
The Yellow River is the second longest river in China.
黄河是中国第二长河。
Ⅵ. 形容词最高级前面可以有物主代词、指示代词、名词所有格等修饰,此时不能再用定冠词。
Li Lin is my best friend. 李林是我最好的朋友。
