教学过程
step1:导入
老师说:I know from last class that you have a lot of problems. (老师用自己创设的情景单词导入 choice stay up late complete spare doubt strict 并进行板书)Then ,what can we do to feel better if we have any problems. 这里学生只要能说出写信给别人就可以了,老师可以借机导入 offer suggestions。 对于书后练习B中有的单词进行弥散式导入,也就是在遇到该单词的时候就让学生去猜,翻到46页去选一下。
Step2 呈现
1. 老师说:I think writing letters is a good way. So, today I will show you two letters. First, please read Millie’s letter to Sigmund. And answer the following questions.
1) What Millie’s problem is?
2) What she wants Sigmund to do?
学生略读给出答案
老师说:I have some sentences here about Millie. But, some of them are wrong. Can you read Millie’s letter again and do True or False?
学生跳读给出答案,可以个学生读一遍,另外一个学生报答案。对于正确的答案老师可适当引导出更多信息点,也可以引导同学们猜一些单词。来完成书后B 部分。Millie 文章中生词多,如果采用问题方式来完成细节回答,在单词没有完全处理的情况下,学生困难很大; 在对错选择中,如果是生词造成的错选,就放着一会再解决
老师说:We have known the problem of Millie. Let’s meet another poor boy. Please read Simon’s letter and complete the following questions.
1. What Simon’s problem is?
2. What he wants Sigmund to do?
5. 老师说:I want to know more details about Simon. Please read his letter again and help me give the answer.
What does he want to be?
How long does he often play football?
Why does he get into trouble?
What does he think about his hobby?
5. He doesn’t know what _____ ______ and how ____ ________a balance between study and hobbies.
6. He wishes Sigmund ____ ____ him some suggestions.
这些答句和问句要充分考虑不定式式的比重。这里的一个阅读填空也是想锻炼同学们的阅读能力。
6. 老师说:Boys and girls, we can see that they all expressed their ideas clearly。 How many parts do they have in their letters?What’s their use?
同学们看书给出答案,老师在多媒体上集体对答案。
7. 学生跟老师读黑板上的单词并跟录音朗读课文。
Step 3 活动
老师指导同学们完游戏。
Rules:
One student read a sentence about Simon or Millie’s problem, the other guesses whose problem it is and give some advice to him or her.
One must read to the other’s back.
We’ll call some students to the front.
这一步只要有两个目的:1. 会读书中的一些句子。2. 对提建议有一个初步概念。

教学步骤
step1 导入
老师在投影仪上给出Millie 和 Simon 的照片。同时问:Do you still remember their problems? 在此过程中复习和强调学过的短语和一些句型。
Step2 呈现
1. 老师说:We talked about several phrases just now. we have more like this in their letters.
First I will give you Chinese. Can you find them in the letters?
Mllie’s letter
1 解决问题 2 第二天 3 上交 4按时 5 无暇顾及我的爱好
6 心情糟透了7 值得做8 熬夜做某事9 拒绝做某事10 收到…的来信11 对某人有价值
Simon’s letter

2. 老师说:Besides these phrases, they have many beautiful sentences. Do you want to know them? 然后展示文中重点句子。
I don now know how to deal with it.

I hardly have any spare time for my hobbies.
I often doubt whether it is worth working so hard.

have no choice but to do
这种句型中的不定式通常要带to;但当其前面的动词是do,或只有情态动词时,but后面的不定式要省去to。例如: He did nothing but sleep all day long. 他什么也不干,成天睡觉。 I can do nothing but obey it. 我只能服从。
3. spare adj. 多余的, 剩下的, 备用的
I don’t have spare time,
v. 节约, 节省, 提供给某人
Can you spare some time for me?
4. worth:
be worth + n. 当名词为金钱时,表示“…… 值得……” be worth doing sth. “……某事值得被做” (此处在形式上不用被动语态) The question is not worth discussing again and again.
5. offer作动词的用法: offer有"(主动)拿给,给予"的意思,相当于give, 后可接名词或代词作宾语,也可接双宾语,即offer sb sth =offer sth to sb, 如: The young man offered the old man his own seat on the bus. 那个年轻人在公共汽车上将自己的座位让给了那个老人。 Many people willingly offered their blood. 很多人自愿献血。 No food was offered at the party. 聚会时没有提供食品。
6. be of great value
这里of 是拥有的意思 整句的意思为 他们对我来说意义重大。 of 的同样用法 She and I am of the same age.
7. allow: allowed---allowing---allows
Eg. Smoking is not allowed here.
此处不准吸烟。
allow sb to do sth
Eg.我爸不允许我完成作业前在外面玩
My father doesn’t allow me to play outside
before finishing my homework.
8. be strict with sb // in sth 对……要求严格
1. 我妈对我要求严格
My mother is strict with me.
2.我妈对我的学习要求严格.
My mother is strict in my study.
9. Wish to do sth
1.名词: 愿望;希望.命令,请求, [pl. ]祝愿
Eg. With best wishes for a happy new year.
祝新年快乐
2. 动词:
(1)需要;希望
Eg. ①你希望我帮忙吗? Do you wish my help ?
②你要我现在就走吗? Do you wish me to leave now?
(2)祝愿 Eg. ① 我祝愿你健康愉快。I wish you well and happy.
②祝你们成功。Wish you success.
③我祝愿他们幸运Wish them luck.
(3)向...致(问候语) Eg. ①他向我道早安[告别]。
He wished me good morning [good-bye].
4)但愿(后面接一个与事实相反句子时,从句中的动词用过去时)
Eg. ①但愿我能变成一只鸟。I wish I was a bird
② 我希望现在能看到他。I wish I could see him now.
Step3 练习
老师说: Now we have known everything Simon and Millie want to tell Sigmund. Luckily, they got the reply from Sigmund very soon. Now let’s read them. When you’re reading, try to fill in the blanks.
老师让同学把书翻到47页。
老师可以让小组先讨论答案。然后对答案的时候,讲解make a list give up either
