Step 1 Lead -in
1.Talk to students :What’s your favourite colour? Do you know anything interesting about colours? Do you think that colours can affect our moods? We’ll learn about colours and moods today. This article explains what colours can do and what characteristics they represent.
2.Talk to students : Our world is full of colours. Some colours are warm colours. Some colours can make us feel calm and peaceful. Students go through the text and answer : How many kinds of colours are talked in the text/

To lead in the new lesson.
Step2
Play the tape, students listen carefully. Talk to students: While listening , try to find out what colours belong to calm colours, warm colous , energetic colours and strong colours.
Ask five students to read one paragrgh, the others underline the words or sentences they don’t understand.
Students finish B1.Check answers together.
Students do the tick or cross exercises according to the text.
Different colours may represent different….
Blue is a calm colour. It can create the feeling of joy.
White will make you feel stressed.
Orange and yellow are warm colours.
If you feel tired or weak , you should wear green.
Red represents a strong feeling, it can help you take action.
Students read the text carefully again to find out what each coulour represents. Finish Part B2on Page 28.

Step1 Revision
Show some colors to the student,
1.Which group does this color belong to, calm colors , warm colors, energetic colors or strong colors?
2.What does this color represent?
3.What’s your favorite color ? Why?
Talk about the questions and answer them.
To revise the last lesson and lead in the new lesson.
Step2.Leading in.
First, ask them questions about colors to check how they understand colors.
1.What do you know about colors?
2.What if there’s no color in the world?
3.Choose different rooms painted different colors when you have different feelings.
Then, tell students that we are going to know more about the relationship between colors and moods
Answer some questions.
Warm- up
Step 3. Presentation
Tell students that we are going to learn the relationships between colors and moods. Listen to the tape for the first time to compare your choice with that in the book.
Read the text by themselves, then do some “T” or “F” questions and match the feeling with correct colors.
Explain some language points to them.
Listen to the tape and try to get the general meaning of text.
Make sure students understand the general meaning of the text by listening to the tape.
Step4 Presentation
Review the whole passage, and complete the outline about colors and moods.
