Lead-in
There are many time zones in the world. In the US, from New York to Hawaii, there are several time zones. It’s midday in New York, and people are having lunch. It’s 9:00 am in Los Angeles, and children are starting school. In Hawaii, it’s 7:00 am, and most people are getting up.
So we know the time is different in different places at the same moment. Look at the following pictures and ask your partner about the time in different places.

London time is 8 hours later than Beijing time.
Moscow time is 5 hours later than Beijing time.

Language Points
1. At this moment, in different places of the world people are doing different things.
at this moment意思是“现在,此刻”。
常与一般现在时连用, 也可写作at the moment, 近义词为now。
The girl is helping her mother in the kitchen at this moment.
My mother is cooking at this moment.
2. Some are having afternoon tea at home or having a drink.
afternoon tea意思是“下午茶, 午后茶休”。
Do you know how comes the afternoon tea
She is having afternoon tea at home.
3. They’re waiting for buses and running for trains.
wait 的意思是 “等待,等候”,是不及物动词。当其后面跟宾语时,一定要加介词for。 wait for后面可直接加名词作宾语: wait for sb./sth.,意思为“等某人/物”;也可跟复合宾语: wait for sb. to do sth.,意思是“等某人做某事”。

4. Most people are sleeping.
most adj. 大部分(的) ;大多数(的)。most 后可加可数名词复数或不可数名词, 后面的谓语动词单复数要根据most 修饰的名词而定。

Most animals love their children.
5.Some people are still working and some are going home from work.
still adv. 依然, 依旧 放在be动词和助动词之后,行为动词之前。
He is still sleeping at 9:00 am.
