Analysis of teaching material What:The teaching material is from 7A Unit 8 Section A, PEP, with the title of “When is your birthday ”. This unit focuses on how to express their birthday exactly. The conversation is concerned with birthday month and date. Why:My students are supposed to be Junior 1. With the learning of the reading materials, they haven’t mastered reading ability and skills perfectly. Therefore, they need to learn to communicate with others and express their ideas, which is quite important. How:Though the theme of birthday is not familiar to them, the remembering of vocabulary about month and date is challenging to them. Hence, ways like connecting words with picture are important.
Teaching objectives By the end of the session, most students will be able to o understand new words of month and date, and express their birthday date exactly. This will be achieved by: 1. teaching students vocabulary such as January, February, March, April, May and some other words 2. Students can use sentences like"When is your birthday " "My birthday is on ..." to communicate with others. 3.Students can transfer the knowledge we learned in other scenes like expressing the date of festivals and events

Several minutes will be given. When time’s up, several groups will be invited to share their results. Then the teacher will comment on students’ performance.
