Thoughts on the design:
Word power主要是解决了与运动有关的 ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )单词和短语。Part A和Part B展开的一些活动是为了通过学习和辨别不同类型的俱乐部和运动项目来扩大学生对体育方面的知识。Part C的设计是为了加强学生在Part A和Part B所学的词汇。Part D的设计是为了增加相关的信息,通过提问的方式让他们把不同的体育项目进行分类来评价学生的词汇掌握的情况。要求学生不仅扩大相关的词汇同时还能灵活地运用。
笔者根据自己对教材的理解,紧 ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )扣单元主题设计了导入、“头脑风暴”、词汇学习、词汇拓展、词汇运用、讨论以及作业七个环节。在设计教学的过程中,运用Welcome to the unit 以及Reading 两个部分的简要概述作为本课的导入,提出运动是保持身体健康的最佳办法。设计的任务由浅入深,环环相扣,并注重各教学环节的衔接。在整个教学过程始终贯穿运动类型的词汇学习这条主线,首先用图片的形式呈现Part B的词汇——温故知新,设计输入,激活记忆,借助于已学过的词汇建立起新旧知识之间的联系。以话题为中心重组教材。词汇教学离不开语境,设计一个中心话题,使教材为当堂的词汇教学所用,而不是按部就班地教教材。以词汇为主线展开教学,以运用为目标挖掘生成,创造机会促使学生运用目标词汇进行表达。以快乐为原则寓教于乐,促进学生在学习过程中的积极体验,从而达到多维的目标。

写作教学一直是高中英语教学中的一个难点, ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )如何有效地指导学生利用已掌握到的信息进行英语写作,是本节课的重点。本节课在设计时注意采用循序渐进的方式,学生从家庭作业(一个关于Better Body gym 的对话)的展示开始,到英语写作中应注意的标点符号讲解,以讲故事的形式开始,以游戏的方式巩固,中间用表格的形式把标点符号的功能和例句呈现出来,清楚明了。在形式上对学生的写作做了一定的热身之后,再在内容上通过一些活动为下面学生自己写作做好准备——让学生自己设计健身中心的广告,以及让学生编电话对话。当这些准备做好之后,老师给出写作模板,为学生轻松流畅的写作提供帮助。学生文章写好之后,让同学之间互相评价也是写作课的一个重要而有效的手段。最后老师布置的家庭作业是让学生根据刚才老师的讲解和呈现的样文,重新把文章写一遍。

Step 1 Revision (PPT 4)
本课的中心是要教学生写一篇推荐朋友参加Be ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )tter Body Gym的e-mail, 所以在本课的开始,就以检查学生家庭作业的形式,让学生通过对话呈现在上节课学过的关于Better Body Gym的一些信息,既复习了上节课所学的内容,又为以下学生的写作做了内容上的铺垫。

Step 2 Skills building 3: using punctuation
标点符号是规范的英语写作中的一个重要方 ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )面。在设计本课时,首先用一个中国民间幽默小故事,引导学生认识到标点符号的重要性,也引起了学生的兴趣,再将标点符号以表格的形式呈现,在讲解完各种标点符号的作用之后,再以一个小游戏的方式对此知识进行巩固。

The rule of the g ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )ame: the first student of each group in the classroom writes a sentence, and pass it the next student, who adds one more sentence and passes it to the student behind him/her, who writes another sentence and still passes it ——. All the sentences put together should form a complete story. And the last student will read the story to the whole class.
Note: Be careful in ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com ) using the punctuation marks while writing sentences!
5. The teacher a ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )llows students 3 to 4 minutes and ask them to read the e-mail on page 57 and try to add the missing punctuation mark in each line. Then check the answers with the whole class.
Step 3 Writing an e-mail to your friends

3. Make a telephone call
