Animals have the abilities to protect themselves. They hide themselves when they face danger. Some hide in holes, some hide under the water, some hide inside trees... But some animals have an even quicker way to hide. They stay just where they are!
An animal's colour can help it hide. Some rabbits have fur and it can change colours. In winter, their fur becomes white. So when snow falls, you can't see them. A white rabbit hides in the best place of all--right inside its own fur. Some fish can change their colours when they need to. If they don't move, you can't see them because they are like sand (沙) or rocks (岩石).
An animal's shape (形状) can help, too. There is a kind of bird. Its body is long and thin. It lives in tall grass. The long, thin bird looks just like the grass around it. Even if you look at the grass all day, you may never find the bird there.
What will you do if you want to hide yourself Think of how animals hide. Maybe you could best hide in a room with lots of other children in it.
