1. As I approach the hospital wearing my white coat, I look just like any other doctor.
Paraphrase (释义): When I wear my white coat and come near to the hospital, I am like a medical doctor just like other doctors.
本句中的as引导时间状语从句,意为“当……时”;wearing my white coat作伴随状语,其逻辑主语为I,两者为主动关系。在any other doctor中,any意为“任何一个”,所以doctor用单数形式。
As I approach the hospital wearing my white coat, I look just like any other doctor.
approach在这里是及物动词,意为“接近”。
approach 还可以作不及物动词,意为“临近;走近 ” 。
例如:Our holiday is approaching but we still haven’t decided where to go. 假期已经临近了,可是我们还没决定好去哪儿。
approach 还可以作名词,意为“方式;路径 ”,常与介词to搭配使用,构成the approach to。

twice its normal size意为“是它正常大小的两倍大”。
这是固定句式,其中twice作限定词,后面接度量名词(表示大小、高度、长度、重量、数量、宽度等),twice也可以换为其他表示倍数的表达,即 ... times (倍数)+ the / its + size / height / length / weight / amount / width + of…。

rush在本句中是及物动词,意为to take or send someone or something somewhere very quickly because of an unexpected problem “(尤因意外事件而)急送(某人或某物去某处)”。
