Step1 Warm-up Play a game. T says different greetings and farewells. The Ss have to respond with similar greetings or farewells. The students listen and respond as fast as they can.
Step2 Presentation Show Ss a picture. What can you see in the pictures (Sam, dog…) 2.What did Sam say to the dog (Hello,Hi, bye,…) 3.Sam can also greet the dog in a different way. (How are you I’m fine, thank you.) 4.Show another pictures. What can you see in the pictures How can Sam greet Lingling (Sam, Lingling, Hello,Hi …) The Ss answer the T’s questions and review the key points of U1. The Ss learn the new ways of greeting. The Ss practice the new ways of greeting.
Step3 Learning text &Practice Play the video of the text twice. 2.Role play: Act out the text. 1.First, Ss watch the video carefully. Second, Ss watch and read after it. 2.Ss act out the text in group.
Step4 Consolidation 1.Play games: (1)Guess who I am. Four Ss face the blackboard, one of the rest Ss greets him/her with “How are you, xxx ” The student answers and guesses who she/he is (2)Little train. T asks a S “How are you ”S”I’m fine, thank you.”Then act like a train and ask another S. 2.Sing a song: Hello,Hello. Ss play the games and review what they learn in class. Ss try to sing the song.
Step5 Summary 1.How to greet others in different ways 2.How to respond Ss sums together. How are you I’m fine, thank you.
