一、教材分析:本课内容为开心英语六年级上册Unit 4 Keeping Clean Reading and writing 部分。文本的主要内容为Wang Yan, Sam 和Judy三个人对于各自城市变化的描述。这篇阅读内容十分贴近学生的实际生活,有助于学生了解改革开放以来过家发生的变化,培养学生的爱国情感。但是文中提及的变化层面比较有限需要教师适当提供拓展阅读内容。
二、学生分析:六年级英语在小学英语教学中起着承上启下的作用,既是五年级的延伸又是初中一年级的铺垫。学生经过三年多的英语学习,已经具备了一定的听说读写语言技能和综合语言运用能力,形成了良好的英语学习习惯,对于身边热门话题有比较浓厚的兴趣。六年级的学生具备了一定的阅读理解能力,在日常学习中已经掌握了简单的阅读策略和阅读方法。
三、教学目标:
1. 知识目标:
(1)理解文本内容,知道三位主人公介绍的家乡的变化。
(2)掌握There be 句型的过去时。
2. 情感目标:通过学习学生的爱国情感和家国情怀得到提升。
3.重点:能正确使用一般现在时和一般过去时复述文章。
4难点:能正确使用一般现在时和一般过去时写一篇小短文描述家乡的变化。
四、教学过程:
PartⅠ Pre-reading
1.Greeting.
2. Puzzle game.
Ss read some short passages in various ways.
(设计意图:Have the Ss review the present tense, and the past tense, then preview the important sentences of the text.)
3. Free talk.
Ss talk about the plan to Beijing. Teacher talk about her experience of the trip to Beijing. Then teacher lead out the main line“Going on a trip to Beijing by Beijing-Guangzhou Railway”.
Part Ⅱ While-reading
1. Skimming and Scanning
(1) Read and choose the correct sentences to complete the passage.
(2) Check and match the passage with the correct pictures.
(3) Have the Ss know the writer of the three passages.
(设计意图:Have the Ss know the main information and the main idea of the passage “Changes”.)
2. Intensive reading
(1) Group work.
Ss work in groups to find out the information of the changes then write them down on the map. Then talk in groups.
(设计意图:Have the Ss know the detail information of the passage and get ready to retell the passage.)
(2)Retell the passage
(设计意图:Have the Ss know the passage better and practice the “There be”structure.Get ready for the next part“Think and discuss”.)
3. Think and discuss.
Ss work in groups. Choose one task to discuss in groups.
(设计意图: Establish a connection between the students and the text. At the same time the students can comprehend the passage better and their divergent thinking is developed.)
4. Further reading.
(1)Let’s find.
Ss find out more changes by pictures of parks in Shijiazhuang, tables of economics in Zhengzhou, and video of Robot-taxi in Changsha.
(2)Read the new passage.
Ss read the new passage and think deeply about the problems along with the changes.
(设计意图:Ss horizons and reading volume are broadened and it shows the students the vigorous development of our motherland.)
Part Ⅲ Post-reading
1. Writing.
Ss write a passage about the changes of their hometown.
2. Enjoy the video.
Ss watch a video of “China speed”.
(设计意图:Have the Ss fell our motherland strong and further enhance Ss’ patriotic feelings. )
Part Ⅳ Homework
1. Share your passage with your classmate.
2. Choose one picture book to read. Share your opinions in the next class.
3. Find more changes all around the world and discuss with your friends.
