【教学目标】

【教学过程】
I. Presentation
Show the picture of the earth and tell students the earth is polluted now.
For example:
(1)The factories that burn coal pollute the air with a lot of black smoke.
(2)Factories put waste into the river.
(3)There are more cars on the road.
II. Learning objectives
1.To learn / revise the following language items through the passage.
2.Language focuses:
(1)Using “made from…” to state the source of a product.
e.g.: Things made from animals in danger.
(2)Using “If…may…” to talk about a possible condition.
e.g.: If we don't do something now, they may all disappear forever.
(3)Nouns: whale, problem, medicine, earth, fur, coat
(4)Verbs: disappear, pollute
(5)Adjective phrase: in danger
III. Suggestions
1.Have the pupils look at the pictures on the book.
2.Draw the pupils' attention to the animals. Invite pupils to say the names of the animals if they know.
3.Use some of the animals to introduce the meaning of in danger and disappear.
4.Set up a purpose for reading the passage: Some animals are in danger. They may disappear from the world. What animals are they Why will they disappear Let's read and find out.
5.Have the pupils read the passage silently all the way through. I may invite pupils to have a first attempt at answering the comprehension questions.
6.When the pupils have finished reading the passage silently, play the recording at suitable points to clarify the meaning and highlight the target language items.
