素材分析
本模块主题为“Garden City and its neighbours”,第四单元主要围绕“购物”展开,以一家人之间,对“买什么,哪里买,怎样选”等产生的对话为线索。
1)文本特征
本课是第四单元的第二课时,图文并茂,插图清晰的展示了几位主人公之间的对话主题,是选择黄色腰带的牛仔裤还是蓝色腰带的?是选择长袖的衬衫还是短袖的?
2)文本特点
(1)从文本的语言来看,难度适中,生词大多与衣服的样式有关,主要以名词为主,如:spot, check, stripe, sweater, V-neck等。句式上主要出现了选择疑问句”Do you like …or… ”;介词“with”;代词”one和ones“的用法,是本课的重点和难点。
(2)从文本的结构来看,这个课时分三个部分。第一部分Look and read, 结合图片展开主人公之间的对话,针对衣服和裤子的样式进行一问一答。第二部分Look, ask and answer,主要以图片为主,针对第一部分所学句型进行操练。第三部分Draw and write,对文本内容进行了限定型拓展。
(3)从文本的内容来看,对话以妈妈带两个孩子去购物为导入,以女儿需要一条牛仔裤和儿子需要一件衬衫为线索,教师在教学中紧紧抓住这条线索并由此展开了对衣服样式的讨论。由课本带入生活,由对话延伸写画,由他评变为互评。让学生从知识到能力都得到了相应的锻炼。
2. 教学策略
1)整节课以教师所穿的衣服导入,再以为教师设计衣服导出,激发学生的参与热情。
2)借助图片的辅助,帮助学生掌握并运用核心词汇。
3)引导学生观察文本所给图片,猜测文本主要内容。
4)通过小组讨论,成果展示的方式以读促说,以说促写,
5)在互评过程中引导学生在分析情景,表述观点时要做到合情合理,有据可依。
3. 学情分析
服装的话题并不容易引起学生的兴趣,而以此时此刻老师身上所穿的衣服为导入就很自然地打破了这一局面。初一的学生对衣服样式的选择相对比较单一,对不同情景下衣服的搭配也有一定的局限,因此教师在读后活动的设计中特别选用了特点分明的4种场景,并在work sheet中给出了一些词汇信息的参考,为部分基础薄弱的学生提供适当的辅助并增加他们完成任务的信心。
4. 重点和难点
1)帮助学生认读有关服装的生词,为后面的对话做好铺垫。
2)掌握代词one和ones的区别,尤其要结合jeans和trousers,让学生从理解到运用。
3)利用选择疑问句”Do you like …or… ” 来操练with与不同衣服样式的搭配。
4)在展示环节中要尽量做到认真倾听,必要时可做些记录,才能顺利完成互评。
【教学目标】

-Let students know about how to describe different kinds of clothes.
-Help students understand the meanings of some words and phrases (V-neck, round neck, spot, stripe, check, sweater, jeans, fashion) and some sentence structures (I like the one/ the ones with…)

-Develop students’ reading skills (read the picture, pre-guessing and so on)
3. (Emotion)
-Stimulate students’ interests in the topic and build up their confidence.
-Help students to improve the ability of cooperation and autonomous learning.

Teaching Procedures:
Stage Learning Activities Purposes
Pre-reading Watch the dress that the teacher is wearing carefully and try to answer some questions about it. Lead in the topic and stimulate the students’ interest.
While-reading Look at the pictures and try to know more patterns of the clothes. Help Ss get familiar with some new words.
Look at some new pictures about clothes, fill in the blanks with the new words and answer some questions with “the one” or “the ones” Provide more chances for Ss to practise the new words and introduce the sentence structure “I like the one/ ones with…”
Try to guess what they are saying in the pictures and share their opinions with others. Read the two pictures carefully and answer some questions. Let Ss learn to pre-guess and get a general idea of the conversation. Help Ss to build up their confidence to express their own opinions.
Listen and read the conversation loudly. Introduce the sentence structure: Do you like ….or … I like the one or ones with…
Post-reading Make a conversation with the desk mate about the 8 pictures on the book. Check what Ss have leaned
Analyze the information they have got and have a discussion with their classmates. Draw the clothes they have designed and share their opinions with each other. Evaluate others’ designing and give some reasons. Train students’ ability to analyze the information by themselves and the ability to apply what they have learned into practice. Motivate the further thinking. Help Ss to build up their confidence to express their own opinions. Encourage Ss to cooperate with others and try to improve the ability of autonomous learning.
Assignment 1. Read the dialogue on P23 at least two times. 2. Write down your designing about the clothes on your exercise books. Eg: If you _____________, you can wear ___________ with _________ because_______________________ 3. (alternative) Design the clothes for yourself on your birthday party and give some reasons. Eg: My birthday is on _________. I can wear ______________on that day because ________________. To consolidate what they have leaned.
