教学设计
教材分析：本单元以“small talk”为话题，让学生学会在不同的场合用不同的话题进行适当的闲聊。
同时了解不同国家关于闲聊的不同话题，教给学生如何轻松愉悦的与别人进行聊天。
学情分析：八年级学生有了一定的英语基础，词汇的掌握有了一定的技巧，语言的运用能力也在稳步上升。但是学生对闲聊应该如何开始，聊什么话题没有具体的实践。因此要在本课的学习中充分调动所有学生的积极性，问题设计由浅入深，创设不同的语言环境来练习，以便学生尽快熟悉各种语言环境，能轻松自如的开始闲聊，力争圆满完成本课内容。
教学目标：1.知识目标：To learn to predict topic sentences
2.能力目标：To read to learn more about small talk
3. 情感目标：To know about different cultures
教学重难点：1.学会自然的进行闲聊
2.能根据具体情况，针对不同文化背景，展开恰当的交流。
教学方法：多媒体辅助教学法，小组合作法
教学过程：
一．Warming-up：say “hello” to each other.
二．Show the objectives to students.
三．Leading-in: Watch a video about the art of speaking.
