教材分析
鲁教版五四制英语教材采用了话题、功能、结构、任务相结合的编写思路,任务链式的活动设计循序渐进,重视培养学生的自主探究和合作学习能力。该教材的题材十分广泛,注重文化内容,有助于开阔学生的视野,提高学生的人文素养。
本课例选自八年级下册第七单元,单元话题为谈论我们所发生的变化,语用功能为谈论人物过去的特点。本节课授课内容为Section B 1a-1e,在A部分的话题基础上进行延伸和拓展,由描述人物性格、外貌变化转向讨论人物行为习惯、爱好的变化;在语言上,除了进一步学习和巩固目标句型 used to 的用法, 还复习巩固了有关行为习惯和爱好的短语。从技能上看,本课引导学生关注听力前的预测。
学情分析
本节课主要讨论学生外貌、性格、喜好和行为习惯的变化。学生对此类与生活关系较大的话题比较感兴趣。可以联系学生实际,引导学生讨论自己和他人的各方面变化。
在学习本单元之前,学生已经学习过了一些描写爱好和行为习惯的词汇和句型。在本单元的A部分,学生已经对used to 的用法有了一定程度上的了解和掌握。本节课需要提供语境,引导学生进行大量的练习。
学习目标
通过本节课的学习,同学们将能:
通过听前预测和听中抓关键词等策略,听懂谈论关于学校生活和个人喜好变化的对话。
较熟练地运用used to结构谈论自己和他人各方面的变化。
意识到伴随着成长,我们的身心是不断发展变化的。意识到成长和变化就是不断自我完善的过程。
学习重难点
本节课的重点是在语境中理解谈论爱好和行为习惯变化的短语和句式;能够用used to谈论自己和别人多方面的变化。
难点是在语境中回顾并且描述自己和身边人的各方面变化。
学习步骤
Step 1: Lead-in:
Guessing game:
Talk about the famous people:
T: Who is he/ she What changes has he/she made
Ss: He/ she is... He/ she used to...but now he/she ...
Talk about the the teacher:
T: Who is she
Ss: ...
T: This photo was taken when I was in middle school. Can you say something about my changes
Ss: You used to... but now...
(设计意图:通过猜测学生熟悉的名人和老师并说出他们的变化,复习used to 的用法,激发学生的学习兴趣。)
Step 2: Presentation
T: Do you want to know more about my life in middle school
When I was in middle school, I use to wear school uniforms every day.
Can you guess my hobby and classes I used to like
T: I used to like...(soccer, P.E. class, music class, catching ants and insects)
But I didn’t use to like painting pictures.
Ss look at the pictures and learn the new sentence “ I used to like...”

Practice: What did you use to like
Ss check or write down things they used to like. Then share by using“I used to like...”
Pair work: Talk about things you used to like with your partner.

T: Our school is looking for students who have great changes. Discuss in your group and find out who has changes most .
Ss discuss in groups and do a report.

Step6: Thinking: What is the true meaning of the changes and growing up
Ss share their ideas and read the sentences together:
Growing up is a must for every child.
We have different changes as we grow up.
The true meaning of growing up is to get ourselves better and better.

Homework:
A. Write a short paragraph to introduce your changes from different aspects.
B. Interview your friend about their changes from different aspects and write down their changes.
