学情分析
教学目标 Language Competence Students are asked to grasp the related words, expressions and the structure “by+v-ing”: repeat，note，pal，physics，chemistry，memorize，pattern, take notes，keep a diary in English，use an English dictionary. Sentence patterns: ①—Do you learn English by reading aloud —Yes，I do. It helps my pronunciation. ②—How can I improve my pronunciation —One way is by listening to tapes. Through grammar focus, the students are asked to know how to find language rules and draw inferences from one example, and talk about “how to learn” and know the importance of good study methods and can use the effective methods to guide the following study. After the group work, the students are trained to feel the sense of cooperation and get the sense of satisfaction from it.
Cultural Consciousness Help students self-check to find their own learning methods, so as to achieve efficient learning.
Thinking Quality Through all kinds of activities, students are able to obtain key information and express how to learn English efficiently. Also, learn to explore, communicate and share with people and improve the logic of thinking, critical and innovative.
Learning Ability By talking about how to learn English, students can arouse interest in English learning and classify learning needs and goals: actively communicate with others and reflect on progress and shortcomings in English learning, and try to find out the reasons and solve them.
重难点
重点 Grasp words, expressions. To learn to understand and use “How … ” and “By … .” sentences. To grasp the use of the structure by+V-ing to express ways or methods when doing sth. in a context. To learn to write the ways to improve English.
难点 Put the learned words, expressions and by+v-ing into the topic of“how to learn” and use freely. Use the learned ways and strategies to guide the future’s study.

2.用作宾语
1)作动词的宾语
常见的此类动词有:practice, enjoy, finish, give up, cannot help, keep, keep on, mind, miss, put off, depend on, think about, succeed in, worry about, be used to, get used to, look forward to, pay attention to, 等。
e.g. How do you practice speaking
I have to finish reading a book and give a report.
2) 作介词的宾语
1.I learn English by doing grammar exercises.

3.He was late again because of getting up late
4. Lock the doors and windows before going out
