1、As you can see, in some ways we look the same.

1）as在此作连词，引出一个状语从句，意为“如……的”。
As we all know, Tom speaks English better than Jim does.

Both的用法
1)both在句中作代词使用，意为“双方，两者，二人”
Both of the f ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )lowers are very beautiful.=The flowers are both very beautiful.
那两朵花都很漂亮。
Both of them ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com ) are interested in English.=They are both interested in English.
他们两个都对英语感兴趣。
2）both还可以用作形容词，意为“两者的，双方的”。
Both the answers are right.两个答案都对。
3）构成both…and…意为“不仅……而且……”，可连接两个并列的成分，若连接两个并列的主语，谓语动词用复数形式。
Both you and I were wrong你和我都错了。
He can speak both English and French.他会说英语和法语。
注意：both…and …的否定式为neither…nor…或not…either…or…
He can speak neither English nor French.=He can’t speak either English or French..他既不会讲英语也不会讲法语。
拓展：both的反义词是neither意为两者都不。
Neither of them is outgoing.他们两个都不外向。 （谓语动词用单数形式。）
4） both与all
A、都含有 “ 都“的意思，两者均可用作限定词和代词，可与连用。
B、both表示两者都……，反义词是neither
His parents both like going walks after dinner.他父母都喜欢在晚饭后散步。
all表示“三者或三者以上都”反义词是none。
They all want to visit the zoo.他们都想去动物园。
C、both和all用于句中，一般放在情态动词，助动词或系动词be之后，实义动词之前。
We are both/all very tired.我们都很累。
She’s a little more outgoing than me.她比我外向一点。
1) a little在此修饰比较级more outgoing表示程度。在形容词比较级的前面，可以用一些副词修饰，加以强调，表示更……，……得多，这些副词还包括much, even, far, still, a lot等。
Jim is much taller than Tom吉姆比汤姆高多了。
2）very ,too, quite, so等词也是程度副词，可修饰形容词或副词不达意，但只能修饰原级。
The bag is very beautiful. The coat is too small.
4.Liu Li has more than one sister.刘丽不止一个姐妹。
more than one+单数名词，意为“不止一个……”，若作主语，尽管从意义上看是复数，但谓语动词仍用单数形式。
more than one book is on the desk.书桌上不止有一本书。

形容词比较级的用法
双方比较，表示一方超过另一方时，用“比较 ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )级+than”结构表示，意为“比……”。如：This bike is better than that one.这辆自行车比那辆好。
表示一方不如另一方时，用“less+原级+ ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )than”结构表示，意为“……不如……”。如：This room is less beautiful than that one .这个房间不如那个房间漂亮。
表示一方超过另一方的程度或数量时，可在比较级前加表示程度的状语。如：even, a lot, a bit, a little , still, much, far , yet, by far等。如：The weather is even worse than yesterday.天气比昨天更糟糕了。
表示一方随另一方的程度而变化时，用“the +比较级（主语+谓语），the +比较级（主语+谓语）”结构，如：The harder he works, the happier he feels.他工作越努力，感到越快乐。
不与其他事物相比，表示本身程度的改变时，用“比较级+and+比较级”的结构，意为“越来越……”。如：The weather is getting hotter and hotter.天气越来越热了。
The girl becomes more and more beautiful.这个女孩变得越来越漂亮了。
在比较从句中，为避免重复，常用that(those),one(ones)代替前面出现的词。如：The book on the chair is more interesting than that on the desk.椅子上那本书比桌子上那本有趣。
表示两者在某一方面相同时用“as+形容词或 ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )副词原形+as“的句型。如：I think English is as important as math.我认为英语和数学一样重要。
Tom runs as fast as jack.汤姆跑地和杰克一样快。

He did not come as /so early as Wang Lin.他不如王林来得早。
这种句型可以和第2种“less +原级+than “转换”。

4、beat和win
win意思是“赢”“获胜”“得到成功”。作为及物动词时，它的宾语往往是奖品、奖学金、名誉、财产、战争或运动等。
Mary won first prize in the competition.玛丽在竞赛中获得一等奖。
beat也有“赢”“取胜”“战胜”之意，但它后面跟的是比赛，竞争中的对手或战争中的敌人。

do you think 是插入语，只是对一句话作一些附加的解释，与句子的其他万分并无语法上的关系，若去掉do you think，句子仍然完整，语序不变，do you think之后是句子的谓语。
