教材分析:本课教学内容为仁爱版教材八年级英语(上)2单元Topic 2 Section B (1a-2a )。材料围绕“吸烟”话题展开,辅以must,should等情态动词的理解运用,重点培养学生用英语谈论吸烟、健康话题的语言能力。文本1a以Maria, Wang Junfeng两个主人公的对话方式呈现,内容层层递进,引发学生对吸烟危害的探究和健康生活方式的思考,文章生词量适中,较易理解。
学情分析:八年级学生,有一定学业压力,容易忽略生活方式的健康性,也普遍缺乏对父母的健康关注。知识方面,通过一年多的英语学习,学生已具备一定的英语表达能力及must, should ,had better ,may等情态动词的相关知识。
设计说明:
教学设计紧扣核心素养要求,创设真实语境贯穿课堂始终,从生活中的健康常识切入课堂,聚焦“吸烟”话题,逐层拓展到多样化健康生活方式的深度探索。活动明线与技能训练的暗线巧妙融合,通过学习理解、应用实践、迁移创新等语言与思维相结合的活动,引导学生获取、整合、内化信息以表达自身观点态度,辅以海报创作、情景表演、调查等手段,着力提升语言听说技能的同时,兼顾其创造性思维、合作意识的培养,引导学生积极思辨,帮助学生树立绿色生活的健康意识。

Stage One: Warm-up and Lead-in (2’)
Photo watching. Share photos of three fathers in the class. Which father is the healthiest Why Questionnaire. Tell students some habits in life. e.g: Brush teeth twice a day. Go to school without breakfast. Relax by smoking. ... Watch and think about the difference among them, and tell which father is the healthiest and the reason. Say whether people should do or not do . To focus students’ attention on health topic. To make the teacher close to them and lead in.
Stage Two: Presentation (9’)
Activity 2a Show the pictures in and talk with students about the health knowledge in life. Guide them to understand the new words article, energy , active , necessary through getting the importance of running, drinking water, walking ,going to bed and getting up early etc. Activity 1a - 1b Ask them to watch the picture and guess what they talk. Guide them to listen for answers. What are they mainly talking about Whose father smokes Get them to listen again ,finish 1b. Encourage students to answer the question freely. What do you think of Maria Why New words learning Try to understand the reason why breakfast,, water drinking walking,going to bed and getting up early are so important in daily life. Learn the new words article,energy, active , necessary through the pictures shown. Picture guessing what Maria and Wang Junfeng are talking about, try to get the meaning of article. Listening training Through listening twice, First , choose ,then answer the questions in 1b . Free talk. Say their own opinions about Maria and give the reason. Learn the new words through talking about the health knowledge in daily life . To prepare for Activity 1a. To train students’ listening skills by completing three tasks. Encourage students to think freely, improve students’ thinking ability
Stage Three: Drill (6’)
Prepare the flash of Activity 1a. 2. Ask students to finish Activity 1c . 3. Help them to prepare for acting the dialogue in pairs and then ask a few groups to act it out in pairs. Flash watching. Watch the flash carefully. Activity 1c. Fill in the blanks in 1c and read it aloud and alone. Role play Act out the dialogue in front of the whole class after enough preparation in pairs. To practice 1a and prepare for Role play. To train students’ speaking skills.
Stage Four : Consolidation (6’)
1. Picture showing. Show pictures of smoking including the number of smokers in China, the rules even laws about smoking in our country. 2.Get ready to play the video., let students know more about the harm of smoking. 3. Exercises Lead them to choose the proper modal verb to complete the sentences. We _________ relax by smoking , it’s too dangerous ! We_________ ask our parents or friends to give up smoking, if they do . 4.Guide students to discuss how to help parents give up smoking. Deep learning of smoking With the help of pictures and the video, know how smoking can harm people’s lungs and hearts deeply, what the government have done to help people keep away from it. Tell their own attitudes towards smoking by completing two key sentences with should /shouldn’t must / mustn’t. Pair work Discuss how to help parents who smoke and share in pairs. Write down the ideas on the small blackboard. . To help to raise the students’ awareness of none-smoking. To improve their thinking ability. 3. To help students get the usage of modal verb “must”. 4. To consolidate their awareness of helping parents and others.
Stage Five: Creation (15’)
Tell students how to make a poster about healthy lifestyle with the given pieces of pictures and paper. Give them help while making it in groups if necessary. e.g: Health is… Here is/are… First … because… Second … so that… … is also… Last … must / mustn’t… In a word… Group work Work in groups to make the original poster, get ready to share the poster. 2. Sharing Time . Share their poster in groups. Tell what they think and why. 3.Enjoy and read the beautiful sayings about health. An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Walking is man’s best medicine. Happiness lies first of all ,in health. 1. To arouse students’ spirit of competition and cooperation . 2. To develop students’ creative thinking. 3.To develop students’ speaking skills. 4.To guide students to establish good views on how to live a healthy life.
Stage Six : Summary and Hope (2’)
1. Class summary. 2. Homework assignment. 3. The teacher’s hope. Share a special tree and make it shown little by little on the blackboard . 1. Say what they learn. 2.
