Warming-up Play games:1. I do, I say. 2.I do, you say. 3. She/He does, you say. To revise present continues tense and get students warmed up.
Leading-in Show students the English song sung by my brother. Listen and ask about what he was doing at this time yesterday. Explain what past continues tense is to students. To lead in past continues tense and explain how to use it.
Pre-listening Activities Show students the picture of the dialogue and predict what is going on in the dialogue. To teach students the skills of prediction according the picture of the dialogue.
While-listening Activities 1.Listen to the dialogue and answer the questions. 1. To get students familiar with the dialogue. 2. To help students read in the right pronunciation and intonation

3. Role read the dialogue.
Post-listening activities 1.Show students some useful information about the teacher’s missing pictures and ask students to investigate the five people who were the last to leave with past continues tense. 2. Ask about what the teacher’s neighbors were doing while he was having a party and help them understand how to use while clauses. 3. Show students different things happened suddenly in our daily life and help them understand how to use when clauses. 4.Create a groupwork to let students to work in groups and make a story about an accident with past continues tense and when/while clauses. To help students put past continues tense and when/while clauses into real use.
Assignments Write a passage named An Accident according to the pictures with past continues tense and when/while clauses.
