Teaching procedures:
Step1 Lead in (Pre-reading)
T: Good morning boys and girls. I’m Miss Huang, an English teacher of this school. I am happy to meet you and be your English teacher this time. Let me introduce myself. This is my information card.
I like English very much and I can speak English very well. I also like singing. So I can sing a little. What about you What can you do
I think most of you are very good learners. And everyone can be a good learner. So our school is going to make a story wall(故事墙) of good learners. And you can share your stories on the wall so that you can learn from each other.
What is a good learner? I will show you some examples, are they good learners . (Show pictures)
Look at the pictures and fill in the blanks.
*The boy couldn’t play the piano but he can play a little now.
*The boy could play Ping-Pong a little, but after learning, he can play very well now.
*Polly couldn’t speak at all before. But now it can speak English very well. It can sing English songs.
Read them out together.

Jenny is a girl from London. She loves writing. She wants to be a great writer. She works very hard. When she was three, she couldn’t write at all. At the age of 5, she could write a few words. When she was 6, there was something wrong with her eyes. She couldn’t see anything any more. But she didn’t give up. With her mother’s help, she can write very well now. She is writing her first book. She is a good learner in my eyes.
