二、阅读理解(B篇)
Several large companies have begun creating paper bottles to replace glass and plastic ones. A company called Paboco has been working with many large companies to develop paper bottles.
Clearly, one of the biggest challenges is keeping a paper bottle from leaking (渗漏). The inside of the bottle needs a particular liner (衬层) to make sure
the liquid(液体) doesn’t leak through. Many companies are lining their bottles with thin plastic. Though bottle makers may say this liner can be removed and recycled, many recycling programs don’t have the right machines to deal with these liners.
A Danish company called Carlsberg is working with Paboco on a paper bottle called the “Green Fiber Bottle”. Now the bottle uses a plastic liner. In the future
the company hopes to use a “bio-plastic (生物塑料)” that will break down naturally over time.
But even without the plastic, paper bottles aren’t perfect. Most paper bottles use wood pulp (木浆). That could lead to the loss of forests. Frugalpac, a company from the United Kingdom, has created bottles made of recycled paper, so no trees need to be cut down. Frugalpac still uses plastic liners, though.
With so many companies working hard, we will see more paper bottles in the near future. (2022贺州改编)

During the past summer season, photos of snow leopards(豹)were taken by five different special cameras in Pingwu, Sichuan Province, surprising many wildlife scientists. This shows that the living area of snow leopards in China’s southwestern mountains has become larger.
Pingwu, about 4,200 meters above the sea level, is famous for being home to a large number of wild
pandas. The fourth national survey of pandas in 2015 found that there were 1,864 wild pandas in China, including 335 in Pingwu. As a result, over half of Pingwu’s land area has become part of the Panda National Park, which has a planned area of 22,000 square kilometers across Sichuan, Shanxi and Gansu Provinces.
Through shutting down mines (煤矿), planting more trees, closing down some factories and so on, protection efforts in the park have not only made pandas less endangered, but also are offering safety and protection for other rare species (珍稀物种). About 87% of the Panda National Park lies in Sichuan. It’s the home of more than 8,000 species of animals and plants.
The province has used special cameras and forest protectors as a closely connected protection system. Thousands of forest protectors have been working year-round on more than 900 routes. Over the past four years, they have met rare animals for about 1,600 times. In Pingwu alone, the protection of pandas is beneficial to more than 4,100 species of plants and 1,900 species of animals. Meanwhile, the protection of pandas causes the development of human society, too. (2022枣庄改编)

What does it mean to be green Green is more than just a color. It also means taking special steps to protect the environment. Green products are necessary parts of environment protecting. However, it is not easy to judge a product whether green or not. Here is what we may keep in mind.
The materials of a product are usually our first focus. What is it made of Are there any harmful chemicals in it Green products are made of more natural materials which are free from harmful chemicals, so they can be good for our physical health.
Packaging(包装)is important. How is a product packaged Is it over packaged We’d better choose glass, metal and paper packaging, as these can be reused or more easily recycled.
Location matters. Where was a product produced Where are we buying it When it comes to food, we should order food directly from local farmers. Buying from stores near our houses is also a good choice.
Look into what the company tells us about its product. It’s easy to say that a product is “green” or “all natural” but the words may be too good to be true.
So, much of the information about a product should be taken with a grain of salt. After all, companies always try to make us believe that their products are environmentally responsible.
The greenest thing is certainly the one we don’t buy. Actually, many things are not necessary for life. Better than buying is choosing to leave an unnecessary product in the store. It sends a message to the producer,
keeps money in our pockets, reduces waste and keeps the planet healthy. (2022北京改编)

Extreme weather is becoming more and more common all over the world. Climate change is all around us. There are some influences of climate change.
Power problems
If you visited Chengdu this summer, you might have seen a very “dark” city: no more lights on in the streets; only a few lights on in shopping malls; people sitting in bomb shelters (防空洞) to get cool air. Thermoplegia is the most serious type of fever which is caused by being outside in the sun for too long. If people stay in high temperatures for too long, the heat will damage their organs and make people feel sick, pass out or even die.

Environmental problems have become more and more serious. However, a lot of people still don’t realize the importance of protecting the environment.

In my opinion, we can do the following things to protect the environment. Firstly, we can go to school by bike or on foot instead of taking cars. We can also advise our parents to ride bikes to work. Secondly, when we go shopping, we’d better try to use cloth bags instead of plastic bags. Thirdly, we should turn off the lights when we leave the classroom.
