A Cardinal and ordinal numbers
We use cardinal numbers to count things.

★ 1-12 的基数词:
one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve.
★ 13-19 的基数词:以-teen结尾。
thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen.
★ 20-90的整十数基数词的表示方法:
均以 -ty 结尾.
twenty, thirty, forty, fifty, sixty, seventy,
eighty, ninety.
★ 几十几的基数词:
十位数与个位数之间要用连字符“-”连接.
例如:85— eighty-five 28—twenty-eight
★ 三位数的基数词:
在百位和十位(若无十位则和个位)之间用and连接。
如:148—one hundred and forty-eight,
206—two hundred and six
★ 多位数的表示方法:
从个位开始三个化为一级,分为个级,千级,百万级和十亿级,读的时候从高位开始按照三位数的读法读出再加上表示级别的词。如:

读作:thirty-one million four hundred and fifteen
thousand nine hundred and twenty-three

前面有数词时后面不加s.
For example:
5000—five thousand 表示不确定的数目时后面加s,再加单词of.
For example:
hundreds of 成百上千
thousands of 成千上万
★ 基数词的写法
1)每三位数算一个单位,三个0为千,六个0为百万,9个0为十亿。
2)长的基数词则要用逗号,从右向左三位三位地分开。

We form most ordinal numbers by adding ________to the cardinal numbers. There are exceptions, like first, second and third.
