The analysis of the teaching material This lesson is typically a revision period, which bears a heavy weight on the English teaching of this module. A lot of activities are designed to develop the writing strategies of students. On the basis of enough language input, students will be interested in their future school life.
The analysis of the students As Ss have learnt Unit1 and Unit2, they will use the vocabulary and grammar to describe this topic, expressing themselves. Therefore, the designed tasks should be varied from easy writing sentences to difficult ones based on this topic. H regard to cognitive level, pose a challenging writing task to them in the end.

Lead-in Have a free talk with Ss and play a guessing game. Get to know the teacher through some pictures. To lead in the target topic with Ss’ favorite forms and get to use the target sentence patterns.

Discussion Give Ss a mind map and organizea group competition about making more sentences about their expectation of future high school life. Talk about the future high school from 4 aspects---campus, relationships, courses and activities and make some sentences to describe it. With the help of mind map, Ss can comprehend what aspects we can talk about our future high school life and get to think about what a good composition is.
Give Ss a possible version 2.Read the version and consider whether it’s a good composition and find out the reasons.
Presentation Present some ways of organizing a good composition: analyze the information, list the outline, connect the sentences, polish the passage, check the mistakes. Get to know how to write a good composition by following the teacher and doing some exercises. To make students get involved in some practice so as to master some good ways of writing a better composition, getting ready for the writing task.

Teaching reflection
In this lesson, I tried to make the revision writing effectively, based on the knowledge they’ve learnt. First of all, I led in a guessing game to arouse Ss’ interests and organize a competition between them. I used the mind map to help them conclude the topic and get to know the general outline of the passage. In order to make Ss have a clear map of organizing a good composition, I list some ways and introduce some practical strategies to beautify the composition. Write a passage by themselves and be familiar with the assessment criterion by sharing in class and being a judge. There are still some problems that needed to be improved in my class. For example, the instruction class talks are required to be simpler and clearer. While evaluating Ss’ composition, I should choose different pieces of different levels so as to give a better example for Ss. Anyway, I will continue working hard at leading Ss use proper writing strategies while thinking about organizing a better composition.
