A new curriculum standard(课程标准) for labor(劳动) education has come out recently. Students have to take labor lessons, including everyday chores, productive(生产的) labor and services. These lessons are to develop students' hard working spirit and important living skills.
Starting from the new term in September, 2022, students in
primary and middle schools have at least one labor lesson every week. Primary school students in the first and second grades need to do simple housework like washing vegetables, peeling fruit, and learning to keep plants or small animals.
