Dear Bob,
In our country there are some special customs. First, we are supposed to shake hands when we meet someone for the first time. It’s different from your country. Second, we are expected to let the old people sit first. Respecting the old is a traditional virtue of our Chinese nation. At table, it’s impolite to speak loudly. We had better eat quietly while we’re eating. At the same time, it’s necessary to finish eating up the food in the bowl. Don’t waste anything. Because saving food is a traditional virtue of our Chinese nation.
If you are interested in our customs. I’ll tell you more when you come to our country.
Yours,
Li Hua
