Step 1 IntroductionGreet and play a video that is about Beijing Olympics and the theme song .Step 2 Presentation1. Encourage the students to show the information about Olympics. Teacher writes “Olympics” and “Olympics” on the blackboard. 2.Teacher leads the whole class to say something about Olympics, help ss learn the new words “ring”\ “motto”\ “symbol”.Teacher introduces Olympics and writes “The Modern Olympics” on the blackboard and leads the students to read.4.Let ss read the passage alone with two questions, then encourage volunteers to answer them.5.Help the class go through the sentences that should be marked T or F , then encourage ss to read the passage alone again, and mark T or F.6.Encourage ss to work in groups to discuss and find out the important words /phrases/sentences, then show theirs in their favorite ways.7.Help ss grasp the important structures through a ppt, say and read.Step 3 Consolidation1.Let the whole class think about what they learnt just now and show theirs later on. 2.
