形容词的最高级用于三者或三者以上的人或物的比较，表示“最”。
形容词最高级的构成
①一般情况直接在单词后加 est。
eg：small→smallest

③以“辅音字母＋y”结尾的词，变y为i，再加 est。

形容词最高级的句型用法
①“主语＋be＋the＋形容词最高级＋in/of＋范围”表示“在某范围内最……”。
②“one of＋the＋形容词最高级＋可数名词复数”表示“最……的……之一”。
③“the＋序数词(除了first)＋形容词最高级＋可数名词单数”表示“第几(大，长等)……”。
eg：Dongting Lake is the second biggest freshwater lake in China.洞庭湖是中国的第二大淡水湖。
④选择疑问句中，常用句型：Which/Who...the＋形容词最高级，A，B or C
【注意】①形容词最高级前通常要加定冠词the。但前面若有物主代词、指示代词或名词所有格等修饰时，不能用定冠词the。
②形容词最高级常与介词in或of引导的短语连用，与in连用意为“在……内”，表示“在某范围内”，不一定是同类；与of连用表示“属性”，介词后的名词或代词与句中的主语是同一类人或物，意为“在某一类中”。
