This feast has a tradition dating back over 1,000 years and is usually held for marriage celebrations and festivals. While traditionally it is a local family affair, in modern times this feast has sometimes been held on national holidays so that tourists can take part and enjoy the Miao culture.

Throughout the country there is a great diversity of cuisine. China’s vast territory and long history have given birth to distinct regional cuisines. Eight well-known cuisines in China: Shandong cuisine, Sichuan cuisine, Guangdong cuisine, Fujian cuisine, Jiangsu cuisine, Zhejiang cuisine, Hunan cuisine, Anhui cuisine.
2. How can Sichuan Cuisine be described
The characteristics of Sichuan Cuisine are sour, sweet, fragrant, oily, tasty; Sichuan Cuisine is well-known for its hot and pungent flavoring; Sichuan Cuisine is noted for being tongue-numbing and particular about the use of seasonings; Main condiments are bean paste and pickled pepper.
