Statford-upon-Avon is a small town in the middle of England and is famous because it is the birthplace of William Shakespeare, the greatest English playwright. Stratford is set in the beautiful countryside on the River Avon. At the Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre, you can see Shakespeare's plays like Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet as well as other plays. Stratford is a historic town and well worth visiting for a taste of Old England.
