一．教学目标
知识与技能目标
（1） 能读懂故事主要内容，借助插图理解故事主要情节。能在图片和关键词的帮助下简单复述和模仿扮演故事。
（2） 能用How tall am I You are _____ centimeters tall . How much do I weigh You weigh ____ kilograms询问和说明身高和体重。
（3） 根据故事情节用。。taller/shorter/heavier than …the tallest/shortest,描述图片 情感目标
（1） 在活动中培养学生的观察能力，阅读能力等。
（2） 通过故事学习，体验故事的乐趣，理解故事中的幽默感。
二．教学重难点
1. 教学重点：对故事的整体感知，理解，并正确朗读故事。能用How tall am I You are …centimeters. How much do I weigh You weigh …kilograms询问和说明身高和体重。
2. 教学难点：知道Ann 比Ken 矮，但是却比Ken 更重的原因。
三．教学过程
Step 1 Warm up
1. Greetings.
2. Brain-storm Review the numbers: 35, 85, 135, 147 etc. 3. Guess the height and weight of some famous singers.
Step 2 Presentation
1. Explain the words of height and weight PPT show a height scale. We can use the height scale to check our height. Then explain the word of weight in the same way.
2. Make an investigation.
1) How tall are you
2) Are you satisfied with your height or weight
3. Task: Cooperate with your partners to create your ideal height and weight.
4. Learn the story
1) Show picture 1 Listen to the story with the following
Qs: Where are they What do they see
2）What are they going to do Read picture 1 after tape.
3) Listen to the story from picture 2 to 5, then fill in the form.

Read the dialog after tape. Ask some students use the dialog to check their own height.
4) Show picture 6 and 7 After listening the dialog, have students think of the question: Ann is shorter but heavier than Ken, is it right Read the passage beside picture 8 and 9, then underline the answer.
5）Explain picture 8 and picture 9
Step 4 Consolidation
1. Read the story after tape.
2. Act out the dialog in groups.
3. Listen to the story again, and do some exercise.
Step 5 Extension
1. Retell the story with some key words.
2. Check the data of each group.
3. Keep fit with healthy diet and exercise,
Step 6 Homework
1. Act out the story with your partners.
2. Make an investigation and fill in the form.
