Step1presentation Greeting: Good afternoon, everyone. What’s the date today (It’s December 15th.) December the last month of the year. Which festival is coming soon (Christmas Day.)Show a picture of Christmas tree: This is a Christmas tree. Under the tree, there are lots of presents (gifts). Do you like presents Let’s open them immediately. You can choose the box of your favourite colour. Each box represents a gift. They are the new words: a baseball cap, a video game, a chess set, a dictionary, a toy, chopsticks and chocolate.Look and say: Look at the pictures in Activity 1 and say them together to consolidate.Lingling’s birthday is coming soon. Her friends Betty and Tony are choosing gifts for her. First, listen to a dialogue and try to number the words (activity 2). Then listen again and answer two questions: What present do they want to buy for Lingling Why do they buy it for her If you are Lingling, what do you do when you get a gift from your friends Do you open it immediately or later Here are some differences between people in China and people in the west. Let’s listen to another dialogue and find the differences.Here are just two differences. Do you want to know more about our Chinese traditions Listen and fill in the blanks. 1.answer teacher’s question2.Choose the gift as they like and read the new words after the teacher. 3. Step2.practice Activity 3: Check what you usually do in China.Read the dialogue and finish Activity 4. Read after the tape and try to imitate the sentences in the dialogue. Pay attention to the stress, rising tone, falling tone and pause. After reading, answer two questions: Why does Lingling say “what a surprise!” Why does Tony say “You can’t be serious!” Complete the summary Ss do as the teacher says. 学生通过呈现环节和之前的听力环节,已对生词和中外差异、中国传统习俗有所了解,这一步检查他们是否很好地掌握。
Step3.production Group workWork in groups of four. Talk about class rules like this: We must …/ We mustn’t … Ss talk about their trips with their partner and then some of them report. 通过小组活动让学生把本节课所学的利用起来,主要是用上情态动词。

教学反思:
本堂课总体还是比较流畅的,内容完整,重点明确,特别是导入环节,通过选礼物来对生词做了很好的呈现,激发了学生的兴趣,课堂氛围较好,而且本节课凸显了听说课的特点,听的次数多达5次,通过听解决了很多书本知识。
但是本节课还存在以下不足:一、听之前应该跟学生强调合上书本,不然学生容易翻着书找答案,达不到听的目的;二、最后语音模仿的环节可以在句子上做上标记,如停顿、重读、上扬声调、下降声调、连读等;使更清晰明确;三;最后小组活动环节让学生讨论班规,但范围太广,可以具体一点,比如为了争得文明班级,我们应该做什么,不应该做什么。此外,还有一些设计环节,如教授accept这一生词,可以送一样小礼物给学生,让学生双手接受表示礼貌,这样更浅显易懂,学生还亲自体验,印象更加深刻。
