Analysis of the text
This module is from the second students’ Book in Grade 7 of New Standard English. The topic of this module is about the holiday journey which attracts the main interests of students and it’s really a popular topic that lots of them want to talk about. The function of the language in the module is to talk about traveling experiences.The main structure is still about simple past tense which Ss have learned 3 modules before.Unit 1 is all about Betty’s travelling experiences in Los Angeles.Unit 2 centers on Betty’s traveling experience in Paris.This unit is a reading part that trains the ability of reading and writing, and this lesson is the second lesson of this unit. The teaching aim of this lesson is going to learn to write by using writing skills. According to the New Standard of English Teaching, Communicative Approach and cooperative learning strategy will be helpful. With the help of multimedia system, the language learn will be better. The choice of tasks in class and the design of the class are totally based on students.The most important thing is to help students take an active role in learning. what's more, the abilities of their self-study and cooperation are also focused.
Analysis of the students
Most of the students in my class are outgoing and lively. They like to share their experiences. Besides, they usually take active parts in the class. Many of my students only have the experiences of visiting some places which are not far away. Some even have no experience of visiting some places except the school trip. So I choose May Day holiday and school trip as our writing topic. That’s because they are familiar to students and students have the experiences of them.As for the simple past tense , they have learned 3 modules before, they can master the way of using past tense of “be” and “regular and irregular”verbs. But Writing is difficult for students. They usually don’t know to write. They usually write simple sentences. That’s because they don’t know how to use details to describe activities.So it’s necessary to teach them how to use details to describe activities.
Teaching Aims:
1. Knowledge and skills
a.Students will be able to use details to describe activities.
b.Students will be able to write familiar topics .
2. Process and methods
a.Students can master the way of writing by reading, analyzing and writing the writing.
b.Students can take an active part in the lesson because of their experiences in the real situation.
C.Students can communicate with each other about their holiday and share the enjoyment of travelling by discussing with others.
3. Emotion and value
a.Students can broaden their view
b.Students experiences more and share the enjoyment with classmates.
C. Students can understand the meaning of travelling.

Step5 Read and answer Let students read another writing and find out why it’s beautiful.If students can’t find out the linking words, help them to find out. Students read another writing and find out the reason. Have students know that using more details to describe an activity can make it beautiful.Also, linking words can make it beautiful,too.
Step6 Polish the writing 1.Give students a writing that is simple and let them polish it.2. working in a group and choose the best writing in your group and tell me why. 1.Students polish the writing by themselves 2. Students discuss and choose the best writing in their group. Train the writing skills and develop the consciousness of cooperation.
Step7 Show time Let students evaluate the writing.The teacher evaluate the writing again. Students give comments on the writing that they chose.Students comments the writing with the teacher. Consolidate the skills by commenting the composition.
Step8 Summary Students summary what they have learned today. Train the ability of generalization.
