教材分析 This section focuses on learning how to order food in the restaurant. Students need to know the correct use of “would like”, and can simulate ordering with a partner in a real-life situation. The textbook revolves around everyday life and arouses students' interest. It also implies the importance of healthy eating habits
学情分析 Students recognize and know most of the key vocabulary needed for the lesson. They have a strong ability to imitate and perform. They are active in class and lower achieving students can also be actively involved in the class.
教学目标 语言能力 Students can learn to use food nouns when ordering food in a restaurant.
学习能力 Students can arouse their interest in learning English, develop good learning habits and improve their listening and speaking skills through cooperation and talk.
思维品质 Students can learn food nouns and know how to order food.

教学重点 Understand the meaning of key words and the use of “would like”. Distinguish and correctly use countable and uncountable nouns.

1 Lead in (1’) Play a short video of eating noodles and ask the students what are they doing and if they like noodles. Then introduce that I am going to open a noodle house in the school. 1.Export students' interest in noodles 2.The noodle shop was deliberately chosen to open in the school in order to get closer to the students.
2 Pre listening (10’) 1.Show students Special 1 and then ask for their opinions on Special 2 and Special 3. 2.Put pictures of meat on the board in turn and guide students to say their English and the complete sentence. For example, I’d like the beef noodles. 3.Put pictures of vegetables on the board in turn and guide students to say their English and the complete sentence. For example, I’d like the cabbage noodles. 4. Guide students to combine the two. For example, I’d like the beef and cabbage noodles. 5. Assign a particular column of students to practice.(开火车) 6. [Game] Guess what kind of noodles do you see. 7. Match the words with foods in 1a. 8. Choose two of these for our Specials 2 and 3 (chicken and carrot noodles & mutton, potato and carrot noodles) 1.Teach new words through food pictures. 2.Reinforce students' memory of new words through games.
3 While listening (16’) 1.Listen and check the noodles that the person orders in 1b 2.Listen again and role play the conversation. (Girls as the waitress and boys as the customer) Waiters & Waitresses Wanted for Paddi’s Noodle House 1. [Acting] Teacher as a waiter. Choose a student as a customer and simulate ordering noodles. (示范) Next, let students practice in pairs for 2 minutes, then choose 3 groups to perform. 2. Ask students what size of noodles they’d like to eat. (Don’t waste food!) 3. Put pictures of bowls on the board and guide students to say their English and the complete sentence. For example, I’d like a large bowl of noodles. 4. Summary the way to save food: order as much as we can eat. 5. Listen and check the names of the foods in 2a. 6. Listen again and finish 2b. 7. Listen and repeat after the tape. 1. Reinforce students' memory of how to order food through simulation exercises. 2. Elicit ways of asking about the size of bowls of noodles by adding questions after the students' performance.
4 Post listening(10’) [Acting] Choose four students, three as customers and one as a waiter, and simulate ordering noodles. (示范) Next, let students practice in groups for 2 minutes, then choose 3 groups to perform. Ask students why we must ask customers “what size would you like ” and then play a video about food waste. Guide students further close to the main idea and summarize the main idea that food keeps us alive and we should never waste food. 1. Reinforce students' memory of how to ask the size of bowls through simulation exercises. 2. Students can have a better understanding of food waste through the video. And the teacher can more easily summarize the main idea.
