Step 1 .Free talk
Show some pictures of great wonders with PPT , including The Terracotta Army, The Three Gorges Dam, The Giants Causeway and Victoria Falls. Ask the questions:
which two are natural wonders
Which two are man-made wonders
Which is an ancient wonder
Which is a modern wonder
What do you think of them
Step 2 . Lead-in.
Play the video about “The Grand Canyon”, lead-in the new wonder. Show the picture of The Grand Canyon, introduce the new words and useful expressions. Then
read the useful expressions after the teacher.
Step 3. Fast reading.
Give the students two minutes, read the passage quickly, then find the answer to the question. Where does the passage possibly come from

Step 4..Read in details
Read paragraph 1 carefully, answer the questions:
