教学思路
本课的教学内容是人教版八年级英语下册第六单元的第四课时。本节课的主要内容就是阅读教学,它不仅包括语言知识的学习,还有阅读能力的提高,同时它还承担着培养正确的情感态度、价值观等深层意义。首先通过讨论人人知道的童话故事,激发学生的思维,用问题引起学生的阅读欲望,再让学生了解本节课的阅读策略,并在阅读中运用,最后通过问题检验学生对文章的理解。

Step 1 Greeting and free talk

Talk about this fairy tale and think about how the fairy tale will continue.
Step 3 Reading
Present new words and expressions: stepmother, wife, husband, whole, scene, stone, shine, as soon as, ground, lead, voice, inside, brave
Prediction
Get the students to predict “what’s the passage mainly about?”
fast reading
Read the passage as quickly as you can, and answer the following questions:
What is the text type?
What did Hansel do to save himself and his sister?
Detail reading.
Read the passage carefully and answer the following questions:
Why does the wife tell her husband to leave the children in the forest?
What does Hansel go out to get?
Why does he do this in the moonlight?
How do Hansel and Gretel find their way home?
Why do Hansel and Gretel get lost the second time?
Step 4 After-reading
Match each description below with the correct scene.
A. The children get lost.
B. The children wake up.
C. The children cannot find the pieces of bread.
D. Gretel learns about Hansel’s plan.
E. The children surprise the parents.
F. Hansel has to change his plan.
G. The children learn that something bad is going to happen.
Then every group gives a report of the answers to the class. Let’s see which group does best.
