复习形容词比较级的规则变化
单音节和部分双音节形容词 一般在词尾加-er tall→taller
long→longer
以不发音的e结尾,在词尾加-r fine→finer
late→later
以“辅音+元音+辅音字母”结尾的重读闭音节,双写末尾字母再加-er big→bigger
thin→thinner
以“辅音字母 + y”结尾,先把“y”改为“i”再加-er easy→easier
early→earlier
部分双音节形容词词和多音节形容词的比较级形式:
exciting
popular
relaxing

dangerous

变化规则:在形容词前+more
副词的比较级
副词比较级和形容词比较级的变化形式大致相同,也分规则变化和不规则变化两种。

“the + 比较级,the + 比较级” 是比较级表达中的一个固定句式,表示“越……, 越……” 。 例:
The faster you run, the earlier you will be there. 你跑得越快,就越早到达那里。
常用形容词、副词比较级不规则变化如下:
原级 比较级

bad/ill, badly worse
many/much more
little less
far farther/further
副词的基本用法
英语中的副词该如何使用呢?应该放在句中的什么地方呢?一般说来,副词主要用来修饰动词、形容词和副词。例:
She plays the piano badly.
她钢琴弹得很糟。
I’m really tired after last night’s tennis match.
昨晚的网球赛后我真的很累。
注意副词与形容词在位置及功能上的不同,试比较:
The teacher speaks _________.
这位老师讲得很仔细。
The teacher is _________.
这位老师很细心。
副词 修饰动词时通常出现在行为动词
(实义动 词)之后。
形容词 通常位于系动词之后或名词之前。

形容词变副词的方法
1.直接 + ly,如:
careful + ly → carefully
quick + ly → quickly
safe + ly → safely
2.以辅音字母+y结尾,变y为i,
再+ly,如:
busy + ly → busily
heavy + ly → heavily
有些词既可作形容词也可作副词,如: fast, early, late 等。

The marathon race
The marathon gets its name from a battle over 2,500 years ago between the Greeks and the Persians. The battle happened at a place called Marathon.
