Art and Architecture
Last Friday, our class had the privilege to attend an exhibition held by the City Gallery, which
left a deep impression on everyone.
The exhibition, themed “Art and Architecture”, featured world-famous architecture that is
also perceived as remarkable artworks. We were greeted with a gigantic picture of the Sydney
Opera House upon entry into the gallery before we were led to more architectural wonders.
The exhibition made great sense, as it enabled us to gain new insights into how art and
architecture can be combined to contribute positively to our living spaces. We can’t wait to attend
more exhibitions like this in the future.

Yet he came to a stop beside the bench and handed me the flower. Surprised and confused, I
was pretty sure that I had never seen this man before. So I explained to him that he must have
mistaken me for someone else. But the man was still holding the flower. "I happened to look out
the window while I was working on the Orient, and saw you sitting here all alone." he said. "You
looked so lonely and cold, so I couldn’t help but think you needed something to lift your spirits."
Looking up at him, I saw a gentle smile displayed on his lips. A current of warmth swept through
my cold body, making everything seem much more cheerful.
Words failed me while I reached out and accepted the flower. Holding it delicately with my
hands that were no longer stiff from the cold, I was choking with emotions, unable to find proper
words to show how grateful I was at that moment. The man nodded understandingly before he
turned around and headed back towards the train. My mind was so caught up in replaying the
random act of kindness that the remainder of my wait at the station passed without notice. I carried
the rose with me for the rest of the journey, which reminded me of the angel who surprised me in a
deserted train station in the middle of the night, and how his kindness lifted my spirits while
replacing my loneliness with joy.
