One day, a typist named Miss Leeson came to an apartment building looking for a room to rent. She didn’t have much money, so she was shown the cheapest room in the building, which was all the way at the top floor. The room was tiny and dark, except for a skylight in the ceiling. It wasn’t luxury, but she was thankful to find something that she could afford on her modest income. The young typist, taking a positive attitude, accepted her new home. “I’ll take it!” she said, sitting down on the small bed.
Miss Leeson was very charming, and the other tenants (房客) grew quite fond of her, Every night after work, all of the tenants would gather together and sit on the stoop to chat. One such night, Miss Leeson pointed out a star as she looked up to the night sky. She said that every night, when she went to bed and looked through her skylight, she could see it. She called the star Billy Jackson.
“You ought to see it from my room,” said Miss Leeson. “At night, my room is like a deep, dark coal mine, and it makes Billy Jackson look like the big diamond pin that Night fastens her kimono with.”
Times soon became hard for Miss Leeson, as she was able to find less and less work. She went from office to office every day, and more often than not, she was told that there was no need for a typist. She began to struggle to afford food and rent.
One night when she came home, she was exhausted and weak--she hadn’t eaten in quite some time. She lay upon her little bed and, looking up, lifted two fingers to her lips to blow a kiss to her Billy Jackson. "Goodbye, Billy,"she whispered weakly. She thanked the star for always being there to comfort her in the darkness. Then, she closed her eyes.
The next morning, when the tenants found what had happened, they called for an ambulance. Luckily, after some immediate treatment, the ambulance physician--Dr. William Jackson--said that she would recover. Billy Jackson, it seemed, truly was her lucky star.

Although you’ve probably heard otherwise, everyone dreams. Even dogs and cats dream. Facts like these can be hard to believe. On the other hand, a lot of myths about dreams seem to be true. Can you tell the difference between myth and fact
* Myth or Fact Remembering dreams is a sign of sleeping better.
Myth. There are many factors that cause us to remember dreams, but quality of sleep is not one of them. In fact, some scientists say that it’s easier to remember a dream after a bad night’s sleep rather than a good one.
* Myth or Fact It’s easier for some people to remember their dreams than it is for others.
Fact. Scientists don’t know why, but people who are more sensitive to sounds tend to remember their dreams. If you’d like to become better at remembering dreams yourself, experts recommend immediately writing down the previous night’s dreams when you wake up. You may even impress yourself with how much more you can remember.
You see it all the time in movies: someone has a dream that appears to predict the future. But could it actually happen Let’s find out!
* Myth or Fact Abraham Lincoln dreamt about his own death right before it happened.
Myth. This famous story about the American president was started by his bodyguard. Although this story has been around for over 100 years, the details of the story often changed. This proved that the bodyguard was lying.
* Myth or Fact Dreams about the future sometimes come true.
Fact. Nineteen people told their friends that they dreamt about the sinking of the Titanic before it happened. It may be hard to believe, but these claims were confirmed to be true. There are also similar stories about dreams that predicted other terrible events, such as 9/11.
These are just a few of the many interesting myths and facts about dreams. From the unknown factors that help us remember our dreams to unbelievable stories about predicting the future, dreams truly are mysterious!
