If you visit the animal shelter (收容所) in Salinas, California, you’ll see huge signs that have a picture of a dog and a cat on them. These signs 14 in front of the shelter to catch people’s attention. Dereck and Beverly are wildlife animal filmmakers. They have made lots of films about animals and plants.
Their job is to keep and protect the big cats of Africa from damage. Beverly also takes photos of the lions and her pictures have appeared in National Geographic magazines.
When Dereck was a kid, he looked quite strong and healthy. He was quiet in class and he was good at math and science. Beverly was naughty when she was young. She had a twin brother.
