一、教学内容分析
本部分为SectionB的阅读部分,2a-2c的阅读部分介绍了世界各地的人们庆祝生日时不同的饮食文化,内容紧扣单元话题,开阔了学生的视野,还渗透了文化意识的培养。
本部分的教学重点是巩固学生对单元功能和语法结构的理解,通过阅读短文了解不同国家的饮食文化。教学难点是阅读语篇教学,教师不仅要让学生抓住文章的大意细节信息,讲解文章中一些常见又实用的词汇和短语,同时,在教学中还需要渗透中西方文化比较和文化理解的内容。

二、教学目标
知识目标:1)掌握以下词汇:world, answer, different, cake, candle, age, blow, blow out, if, will, UK, candy, lucky, popular, cut up idea
2) 能掌握以下句型:
① The answer would be different in different countries.
② The number of candles is the person's age.
③ In China, it's getting popular
能力目标:通过训练,提高阅读的能力,运用不同的阅读技巧完成不同的任务。
情感目标:该部分学习内容贴近学生的生活,谈论的主题涉及食物名称,世界各地的人们庆祝生日时的不同饮食文化,使学生们具有初步的世界文化观念,体会学习英语“在用中学”“在学中用”的乐趣。

1. 教学重点:
1) 阅读中出现的重点词组;
2)通过进行说、读的训练,来提高学生们综合运用所学知识的能力。

Let’s watch a video(ten little sausages)and get Ss to chant.

通过与本单元相关话题食物有关的视频来chant,让学生有个进入学习状态的过程。

Step 2 free talk
1).Greetings:Ask Ss some questions to know something about them.
2)Get Ss to guess the information about me.
Where am I from?
2. What sport do I like best?
3. What color do I like best?
4.What kind of food do I like best?
5. My birthday: A.May 13 B.Feb.7 C.June 8
Step 2 free talk
Answer the teachers' questions.
Guess the information about the new teacher.

用个人信息来拉近与学生之间的距离,在此过程中复习了食物的单词并教授了本节课要出现的几个生词:porridge,answer,wish, bring good luck to...

Step 3 Presentation
T:Today is my birthday. I ate 2 special foods this morning.Can you guess what I had?
Show the pictures of very long noodles and eggs and present the phrases: cut up, long life, a symbol of life and good luck
Q: What do you eat on your birthday?
When talk about the birthday cake,present the phrases:make a wish,blow out the candles,the number of,age

Ss try to guess what the teacher ate this morning.
Ss learn the phrases:cut up, long life, a symbol of life and good luck.
Ss talk about what they usually eat on their birthday.

Step 4 Reading
1.Make a prediction about what
the passage is about according to the picture and the title.
Fast reading : find out three foods;find out two countries.
Careful reading:
A:Read the passage carefully and get Ss to fill in the blanks in 2b.
B:Read the passage again and get Ss to find out the answers to four questions.
C:Get Ss to ask and answer about the four questions.
4.Check the prediction(B. Different countries eat different birthday foods.)

Step 4 Reading
1.Make a prediction about what

让学生先自己谈谈自己的生日活动,巩固阅读的同时也在为下面的小组活动做铺垫。
Step 6 Group work
1.T:This evening I will have a big party. I'd like to invite a lot of friends to my birthday party.But I don't know what to eat and what to do?
Can you design(设计) a birthday party for me?
(Get Ss to work in groups of 4 and write down the names of food and activities for my birthday party.)
Get Ss to report.
Ss may report like this:
In my group, we think you can buy orange juice,................and.....for the birthday party.As for activities, you can eat a birthday cake,.......
You will have a great time!

Step 6 Group work
Work in groups of 4 and write down the names of food and activities for the teachers' birthday party.
Choose some groups to report.
Ss may report like this:
In my group, we think you can buy orange juice,................and.....for the birthday party.As for activities, you can eat a birthday cake,.......
You will have a great time!
That's all, thank you!
小组活动设计生日聚会中的食物和活动,来巩固今天的知识。
Step 7 homework
1. Finsh your report.
2.Try to find other countries' birthday foods on the Internet.(上网查找其他国家的生日食物。)
作业是课堂的延伸,一是小组合作的作业,巩固今天所学的。二是让学生了解更多国家的饮食文化。
