Unit 9 He is kind to children.
教学设计
教材内容分析:本单元围绕“人物的性格特征”主题而展开的。本单元分三课时完成,第一课时为课文Part A、B,第二课时为课文Part C 、D,第三课时为课文Part E、F。通过A、B部分学习要求学生了解用于描述人的性格特征的形容词,如 serious,smart, kind,friendly,active,引导学生理解并学会运用句型“He/ She looks ... .”和“He/ She is ... .”来描述人物的外貌特征或性格特征,能理解本单元的难点句型:“be interested in ... .”,并能运用该句型来表述某人对某事感兴趣。通过C、D部分的学习,要求学生理解关于人物描述的文段并能简单地用一小段话来描述人物的特点。通过对E、F部分的学习,要求学生能理解并运用一般疑问句“Is he/she + 形容词?”“Are they + 形容词?”来向他人询问某人的外貌特征或性格特征。该课为第三课时。
Period 3
教学目标:
1、知识与能力
(1) 能听懂、会说已学过的描述人物特征的形容词词汇,
(2) 能理解,并运用句型“He/ She looks ... .”“He/She is + 形容词”和“Is he/ she + 形容词”来描述和询问人物的外貌和性格特征。
(3) 能综合运用本单元的单词和句型来介绍人物的特征。
(4) 会通过对话完成调查表内的信息,通过小组合作的形式完成角色扮演。
2、过程与方法
(1)在老师引导下,通过游戏和视听法领会英语单词和句子的含义及用法。
(2)采用视听法、听说法、交际法,及创设各种真实或接近真实的语言环境,以学生参与、体验的形式,来激发学生对英语学习的兴趣,调动学生学习英语的积极性。
3、情感态度与价值观
(1)激发和保持学生学习英语的兴趣,体会到学习英语的乐趣;
(2)让学生明白每个人都存在有不同之处,但我们仍然可以成为朋友。无论外表是否光鲜,每个人都是这个世界重要的存在。
教学重难点
能认识、理解并运用描述人物特征的形容词来形容人物的外貌特征和性格特征。
能综合运用句型“Is he/ she ... ” “He/ She looks ... .” “He/ She is ... .”来询问和描述他人的特征。
能正确朗读、理解人物描述的短文,并能通过对话形式提取相关信息,正确地完成调查表单的填写。
小组内能分工协作完成描述人物特征,询问人物特征的任务。
教学过程
Step1 Greetings
Free talk and review
T:Hello!I’m Miss Tan. I am your new English teacher today. You look so beautiful and smart.
Introduce two friends to students( Mike & Sully; to review the sentences and adjectives that describe a person)
Lead-in
T: Look! Do you know them?(Show some pictures)
(1)look and guess
Who is serious?
Review the adjective words in part F.( funny, lovely , kind, active, smart)
Step 2 Presentation
Show the picture of superstars. Review the sentence “He / She looks ... .” And let students guess “Who is serious ”
1. Is he serious
Is she serious?
Yao looks serious, but he is kind and active..
S: He is ...
He wears ... .
He looks ... .
(Do some exercise to training speaking ability.)
T: Is Sully lovely?(show a picture)
He looks terrible. (terrible)
But he is kind to children. He is friendly to children.
They look different. But they are best friend.
Step 3 Practice
Listen and read
listen to the record and read the passage, then finish the table.
2. Role play
T: Well, everyone has friends. Do you like your friends Do you think your friends pretty or handsome Let’s help them to become more beautiful. You are the designer to design friend’s appearance. Look ! She is my friend. I want her to be a superstar. She has long yellow hair. She wears a dress. She wears a beautiful hat on his head. She looks pretty and active.
Task: (1) designer : Design appearance and write about what does the friend look like
(2) Reporter: Ask some questions to know more about the superstar’s friend.
(3)player: Dressed up and talk about yourself and friend.
Answer the reporters’ questions.
Step 4 Homework
1.Draw a picture of your family.
2.Talk about your family with your friends.
Step 5 Summary
