本节课要求学生能够谈论大熊猫的外貌，性格，数量，生存现状等事实，继而从大熊猫濒危现状出发，探究熊猫濒危的原因，并找到拯救熊猫的方法。从熊猫野生动物的身份出发，深究保护野生动物的原因，并能帮忙制作海报宣传。最后引发尊重每一个生命再到爱自然的主题升华。在阅读中体现英语的学科素养。
活动2a是一个读前活动，提供了一些有关大熊猫的词汇，为2b的阅读活动做好话题准备。2b要求学生阅读文章，运用寻读法，快速查找每个数字所表达的意义。并从熊猫现状出发，叙述濒危原因，描述保护方法。2c的读后活动让学生再次运用寻读策略，根据问题所要求的信息点快速定位并找到答案。2d要求学生理解文本细节信息并运用文中的语言将相关句子补充完整。2e是一个开放性的问题，要求学生想出更多方法帮助拯救大熊猫，启发学生思考。
学情分析及教学整体思路
学情分析
本班学生已经掌握了如何去描述事实，对比事实，并且了解了大数字的用法。本班学生学习态度较认真，平板使用熟练，有一定的信息素养。大部分学生思维活跃，但思维深度不够，需要教师在逻辑推理和批判评价能力上进行有效引导。多元的学习资源可以激发学生兴趣，由浅入深的教学环节符合学生认知规律，信息技术的使用可以扩充课堂容量，满足不同学生的学习需求，提高学习效率。
教学整体思路
把2a部分布置成预习作业，让学生利用2a表格所给词汇自选形式（文章，ppt，小品视频，歌曲等）谈论大熊猫。激发学生兴趣并为阅读文章做好准备。阅读过程通过Scanning for information,reading for thinking，reading for applying，deep thinking和integrating skills几个环节完成学习理解，应用实践和迁移创新的学习过程。从认识熊猫，保护熊猫，到爱熊猫，爱动物从而实现尊重生命，爱护自然的主题升华。本节课情节递进，环环相扣，体现教学评的一致性，作业设计贯彻落实双减政策，同时运用了平板电脑的翻翻卡，画廊活动，学生讲和拍照等功能，引起学生兴趣，课堂生动活泼，扩大课堂容量，符合学生认知规律，体现学生课堂的主人公地位。2c和2d整合加入问题链贯穿整个阅读过程。
