宾语从句
在复合句中充当宾语的从句叫宾语从句,就是用一个句子来构成主句的宾语。看上表格:
宾语从句的用法,要从概念、引导词、主句从句时态以及宾语从句的语序这几个方面探究。
语法重点 :本单元主要学习由that, whether / if引导的宾语从句。
定义:在句子中起宾语作用的从句叫做宾语从句。
We know Mr Green teaches English.
She asked if these answers were right.
三要素:1.引导词(连接词):that, if, whether
2.时态:当主句用一般过去时时态时,宾语从句要用过去的某种时态。
3.语序:宾语从句用陈述句语序,即 “主语+谓语”。如:
e.g. He asked me where my school was.

引导词(连接词)
一、由that引导的宾语从句
当宾语从句具有陈述意义时,用 that引导。that 在句中无词汇意义,在从句中不充当成分,在口语当中往往省略。
I think (that) math is difficult.
She said (that) she would leave a note on the desk.
连词that不能省略的几种情况:
1. 从句的主语是that。如:
He says that that is a real king’s hat.
他说那是一个真的王冠。
注意
下列句子合成一个宾语从句:
1. She can swim.
We know _____ _____________.
She will come back in two weeks
I hear _____ __________________________.
我听说她两周后会回来。

二、由if / whether引导的宾语从句
当宾语从句具有疑问意义时,可用if或whether引导。它们在句子中的意思是是否, 不能省略。
Ⅰ. if和whether引导宾语从句时,作“是否”讲,一般情况下,二者没有区别,可以换用。但if常用于口语中,whether比较正式。
如:Millie asked if/whether he liked this sweater.
米莉问他是否喜欢这件羊毛衫.
Ⅱ. 由于if和whether连接的是一般疑问句,因此要注意把从句语序改为陈述句语序。
如:Does Mr Zhao live in Room 208 Could you tell me
→Could you tell me if/whether Mr Zhao lives in Room 208
Ⅲ. if和whether的区别
二者在下列几种情况下不能换用:
1. 宾语从句与or not直接连用时,应用whether,不能用if。
如:I don’t know whether or not he will come tomorrow.
我不知道他明天是否来。
2. 与动词不定式连用时,只能用whether。
如:She can’t decide whether to go to America.
她不能决定是否去美国。
3.在介词后通常用whether
It depends on whether I have enough time.

1.当主句是一般现在的时候,宾语从句根据句子的需要可以使用任何时态。
1) He will go to Hong Kong .
2) He is sick.
3) He is reading a book .

2.当主句是一般过去时的时候,宾语从句必须运用相应的过去的某一种时态,从而达到主句和从句的相互一致。(呼应性原则)

3) He is reading a book .
3.当宾语从句说明的是客观存在的事实或者是客观存在的真理时,就不用受到主句时态的限制,仍是用一般现在时态。(特殊性原则)

宾语从句的时态变化
宾语从句的时态一般受主句时态的影响。当主句是一般现在时或一般将来时,宾语从句可以根据具体情况用适当的时态;当主句是一般过去时,从句要用相应的过去时。

What/How 引导的感叹句
感叹句是表示赞美、惊叹、喜悦等强烈感情的句子。通常由what, how引导。
句子都带有感叹号,表示赞叹、惊异等强烈感情。
Grammar Focus
表示喜怒哀乐等强烈感情的句子叫感叹句。感叹句句末通常用感叹号,读时一般用降调。英语感叹句常用"what"和"how"引导,"what"和"how"与所修饰的词置于句首,其它部分用陈述句语序。
◆What开头的感叹句
1.What + a / an +adj.+可数名词单数+主语+谓语+其他成分!
例如:
What a strong boy he is!他是多么壮的一个小伙子啊!
What an honest girl Mary is!玛丽是一个多么诚实的小女孩啊!
语法重点 :what, how引导的感叹句。
2.What +adj.+可数名词复数/不可数名词+主语+谓语+其他成分!
例如:
What brave soldiers they are!   这些士兵们真勇敢啊!
What fine weather it is today! 今天的天气真不错啊!
what +名词短语(形容词+名词),单数可数名词前带a/an,复数和不可数名词不带。
错误:What a fine weather! weather为不可数名词,前不带a.
正确: What fine weather!/What a fine day!
注意
◆How 开头的感叹句
1.How + adj.+ a / an +名词+主语+谓语+其他成分!
例如:
How exciting a football match it is! 多么振奋人心的一场球赛啊!
How kind an old man he is! 他是一位多么善良的老人啊!
2.How + adj./adv.+ 主语+谓语+其他成分!
例如: How tall Yao Ming is! 姚明真高啊!
How fast the dragonfly flies! 蜻蜓飞得真快啊!
拓展
1)在how引导的感叹句中,句中的主语和谓语可以省略:
How fast! 多快呀!
How nice! 多好呀!
How beautiful! 多美呀!
How nice of you to come! 你来了真好!
2)在感叹句中,What a / an 常用来修饰单数可数名词,若其前面的形容词为元音开头,则用 an。what 是用来修饰复数可数名词和不可数名词。但有些不可数名词,如 rain, surprise, breakfast, lunch 等,当前面有形容词修饰,使抽象名词具体化时,则要用 what a / an,如:
What a heavy rain it is! 多大的一场雨啊!
What a great surprise it is! 这多么令人惊奇啊!
What a rich breakfast it is! 多么丰盛的一顿早餐啊!
