教学目标
1.Students can talk about jobs.
2.Students can write something about these jobs.
学情分析
The students have learnt a lot about the jobs in this unit as well as all those in Unit 5. They could say something about the jobs and talk about their dream jobs with their friends in English. Coincidentally, the lovely cartoon penguins, Donny and Adde, together with their friendship boat, get to be popular in our Wechat Moments. Thus here comes this writing lesson.
重点难点
1. To use suitable conjunctions, such as and, so, but.
2.To make the sentences and passages longer.

【导入】Background
T: Hello, everyone. Welcome to my class. Today I will introduce a new friend to you. His name is Donny. He’s a lovely penguin. He has short hands, short arms, and short legs. He is very short. Now he is playing his pad. He points to the Wechat, reads the Wechat Moments, finds a video, and plays it. Now let’s watch it together.

After watching all this video, Donny starts thinking about his dream job.

There are a lot of jobs.
He cannot decide what to be.

After listening to your answers, can Donny find his dream job

What do you want to be, Donny Donny says ....
Oh! He still can not make a decision. So he talks to his friend about this question.
This is Donny’s friend Adde. They are on a boat of friendship.
(1)Donny says I want to be a scientist.
Adde says but you are not good at science.
Donny feels very sad. The friendship boat turns over.
Donny says I want to be a doctor.
Adde says I don’t like doctors.
Donny’s heart hurts. The friendship boat turns over.
Donny says I want to be a basketball player.
Adde says but you are too short.
Donny’s heart is broken. The friendship boat turns over.
What a pity!
(2)So how can we stop the friendship boat from turning over
How can we make the friendship boat strong and healthy

What can we say, can we say:… you are too short. You cannot do it.Or you are so fat. You can’t do it.
Can we say that No.
We should say something nice, something kind. We should say something to encourage him.
When Donny says I want to be a scientist, we can say...

T : We have given him a lot of reasons. But when asked about what to be, Donny still cannot answer it. Suddenly he gets a good idea! Why not use the pad and write something on the Wechat moment! Maybe he can consider about the jobs which get more likes!
So he starts typing.
He writes.
I want to be a singer.
I like sing.
I am good at sing.
But he got no likes. 一个赞都没有。
He is very sad.

We can change our ways to express. 不要一直重复类似的词
And we can use suitable conjunctions.

(1) And means "和" 当表示并列关系的时候,可以用上and.

(2) So means "所以"
Ss: 当表示因果关系的时候,可以用上so.

To make it better, we can change our ways to express, use suitable conjunctions and make it longer.
Adde says it’s easy to make it longer.
So he writes:

He got no likes. 又没有朋友为他点赞了。他写得又长又啰嗦, and and and sing sing sing
Mr. Adde says in order to make it longer we can 添加恰当的修饰词,补充更充分的理由。
【活动】Make It Longer
T: I want to be a singer.
I want to be a ...singer.
Ss: I want to be a nice/ famous/ great/ beautiful....singer.
T: I want to be a .. singer like ….
Here like means
This example is for you.
I want to be a famous singer like ________. I’m not very good at singing, but I like music very much. I will listen to the music and sing different songs every day.
阿德老师建议,可以先介绍自己理想中的工作,再介绍自己的特长或者爱好,最后表达一下为了这个梦想,自己可以做出哪些努力。
It won’t be that difficult.
【活动】Writing
1. Rules
T: Donny wants to get some help from you.
Can you help him
Could you please write for him to get more likes
You can write it on your paper at first. Then we can discuss in groups and choose one or two of your writings to upload on the Wechat Moments.
2. Students start writing.
The teacher gives them help.
3. Students discuss in groups.
The teacher shares some writings on the screen.
4.Ask the ss to type their writings on the Wechat Moments.
