Step 1 Pre-reading (10mins)
Brainstorm. What animals do you know
2) Guessing game. Ask students what animal it is. (This guy everyday wears sunglasses. /The cat is not catching mice, sunglasses never eyes. Answer: panda)
3) Free talk. How much do you know about pandas (food, place…)
4) An introduction about WWF. Then students predict what this passage mainly talks about.
Step 3 While-reading (20mins)
1) Skimming
Students read the text quickly and finish the match.
2) Scanning
Students read the text again and finish the following task.
Task 1: read paragraph 1 and 2 and complete the table.

Students work in groups of 4 to talk about animals in danger they have known and answer the following questions.

5. What can we do to save it
2) Volunteers to present the result. Teacher makes comments.
Optional activities: finish the exercise 4 on textbook page 40 and check the answers.
Homework: Write a passage about an animal in danger. No less than 80 words. (Students can use the ideas they have discussed in class.)
