The world’s first luxury space hotel,Aurora Station, was announced Thursday at the Space 2.0 Summit in San Jose,California.Developed by US-based space technology start-up Orion Span, the space station will host six people at a time, including two crew members, for 12-day trips of space travel. It plans to welcome its first guests in 2022.
“Our goal is to make space accessible to all,”Frank Bunger,CEO and founder of Orion Span, said in a statement.“Upon launch,Aurora Station goes into service immediately, bringing travellers into space quickly and at a lower price point than ever seen before.”
While a $10 million trip is outside the budget of most people’s two-week vacations,Orion Span promises to offer a real astronaut experience.“It has taken what was historically a 24-month training to prepare travellers to visit a space station and downsized it to three months,at a fraction(小部分)of the cost,” says Bunger.During their 12-day adventure, the super-rich travellers will fly at a height of 200 miles above the Earth’s surface in Low Earth Orbit(轨道),where they will witness incredible views of the blue planet. The hotel will orbit Earth every 90 minutes, which means guests will see around 16 sunrises and sunsets every 24 hours.
Activities on board include taking part in research experiments such as growing food while in orbit, which guests can take home for a super-smug souvenir, and soaring over their hometown.Guests can have live video chats with their less-fortunate loved ones back home via high-speed wireless Internet access and, upon returning to Earth will be greeted with a specially arranged hero’s welcome. While enjoying the thrills of zero gravity, the travellers will be able to float freely through the hotel, taking in views of the northern and southern aurora from the station’s windows.

参考范文
I finally made a decision and called my parents into my bedroom. When my parents saw what I had found in the drawer they were wide-eyed and speechless! Then, they read the papers carefully and were moved to tears. When they asked,“What should we do ” I said,“Let’s take it back to the store and find her family.” My father nodded with a smile on his face and my mother hugged me warmly, saying “You are my pride, dear.”Then we collected all the money and papers at once, putting them in the drawer. We rushed to the charity shop with the drawer in the hope to find the owner as soon as possible.
Though surprised, the shop owner helped find the family’s telephone number.Within a few minutes, the family all came over. When I showed them what I had found in the drawer, they couldn’t believe their eyes. The parents had tears in their eyes. They were still sad about the lady’s death and the father had just lost his job.It was easy to see that my act of honesty gave them hope. They showed me sincere gratitude from the bottom of their hearts. No new bicycle could have made me felt as good about myself as I felt that day because I passed a very important test—a lost and found test of my own character.

2.M:You will arrive at the city centre in less than 15 minutes by bus.
W:What else can I take
M:Taxis are expensive.You can also take a subway.It comes every 2 minutes.
W:I’ll go to the subway station right now.
3.M:Will you come to the beach and have a picnic on Saturday
W:No,I can’t bear the heat out there.
4.M:I’m filling out the report. So,you were driving along Bay Avenue
W:Yeah.I was driving along Bay Avenue. And suddenly, that man stopped real fast.I couldn’t stop in time.
5.M:Can we have a double room,please
W:Certainly.With a bath or a shower
M:We prefer the room which has a shower.
6.W:Hello,sir.How can I help you
M:I have an appointment with Dr.Smith on Thursday. But I just found out I have to fly to Tokyo on Thursday morning.
W:Well,I guess you will be needing to change the time, then.Actually, the doctor is free in about 30 minutes if you have time today.
M:That’s good luck.I’d be happy to wait here and see him today.Thank you very much.
7.M:Mum,my old bicycle needs to be repaired again.
W:Well then, why don’t you just think of buying a new one
M:You know,I’d really like to buy one of those mountain bikes. But they cost too much.At least $300.
W:But what’s so special about a mountain bike Why do you have to have one of those There aren’t any mountains around here.Isn’t a common bike cheaper
M:Yes.You can also get good one for about $150.
W:Well, that sounds reasonable. If you can save $100,I’ll give you the rest. That way you’ll be riding a new bike in a few months.Go and get your old one repaired.
M:Thanks,Mum.I suppose I’ll just have to ride my old bike for a little longer.
8.M:Hello,Milton Hotel Reservations.How may I assist you
W:Hi,I’m calling to make some changes to an existing reservation.
M:Certainly.Do you have the reservation number
W:Sure,it’s 219.
M:That’s a reservation for Sally Menkel. Is that right
W:Yes,that’s right.I’d like to change the check-in date from September 15 to September 16.
M:Certainly.I can make that change for you.Is that the only change
W:No,the check-out date will also change from the 23rd to the 24th.
M:No problem. We have you arriving on the 16th of September and leaving the 24th of September —altogether, eight nights. Will there be anything else
W:Yes.Instead of a courtyard room,I’d like a room with a view, preferably on an upper floor.
M:I can certainly change that for you,but there will be a change in the room rate. The new rate is $199 per night, instead of the original $179.
W:That’s OK.These are all the changes.Thank you very much.
M:You’re welcome.Have a nice day!
9.W:Hello,everyone.Welcome to our programme.Today,we are fortunate to have a special guest with us.Some of you may have heard of him before. He’s an artist. His works have received many prizes and have been shown in over one hundred exhibitions across the country—Los Angeles,New York,Philadelphia,to name just a few.His name is Chris Cucksy. So Chris, tell us a bit about yourself.
M:Well,I was born in Springfield,Missouri, and grew up in Kansas.I didn’t come from a family with wealth or position, but I did manage to get a master’s degree in fine arts.
W:When did you first start to make art And what was the turning point in your life that made you an artist
M:I always liked drawing as early as I can remember.I drew even when I went travelling. And after I read a book about fine art,I knew what I was going to be:an artist.
W:What is it that always encourages you to create
M:Nature is the biggest encouragement.I’m always excited about things of beauty.
10.W:Hello,everyone.Welcome to our programme.I’m Jenny Jackson. The weather here in Juárez has become unbearable. With no rains for over a year, the city is suffering from unusually hot weather. Some light showers have been forecast since last month, but all of them have been effective in surrounding areas.Summer has not even started yet,but temperatures have reached 40 degrees centigrade in the past three days. And people have been warned not to go out of their homes—not if you walk on foot,at least—between 11 in the morning and 7 in the evening.Little kids and the elderly are the ones who have suffered the most from this extreme heat wave. They must drink water all the time.To help our audience have a better understanding of this extreme weather,we have invited Prof.Torres from University of Mexico to our studio this evening.
