第四部分 写作
第一节 (满分15分)
Last Friday afternoon, a heated debate was held in Room 502, Building 1. The topic of the debate is about the school’s proposed “Smart Campus” project. Our school intends to equip each teacher with a robot teacher assistant who can do after-school tutoring and answer questions raised by students. As for it, students’ views are divided.
Some students support this project. They think the robot teacher assistant can help students more conveniently and instantly, and answer the students’ questions when teachers are away for meetings, business trips, etc.
Other students oppose this project. They insist that by asking teachers for help they can not only solve knowledge problems, but also get spiritual encouragement and comfort from teachers.
In my opinion, making full use of the convenience brought by the robot teacher is natural while to communicate with teachers more often is more advisable.
第二节(满分25分)
For the next two days,Colin drew one picture after another. He was so absorbed in his work that he even ignored his sister’s calling him from downstairs to have dinner. The waste-paper basket was filled with pictures he was not satisfied with but he wouldn’t give up. He was trying to make sure everyone was drawn perfectly. Finally, he had everyone just right, his mother wearing her usual kind smile, his father holding his favorite book, his sister looking good in her red dress, and he himself standing beside them smiling widely. He wrapped the present carefully and put it under the tree on Christmas morning.
After all the other presents were opened, Colin handed his gift to his parents. Colin held his breath as his mom carefully unwrapped it. He had expected his mum would be disappointed but the moment she saw the comic, she started to cry.“ This is the best present you’ve ever given us, Colin. You must have spent a lot of time on it,” his mother said, holding the boy in her arms.“I know just where to put it,” his dad said with a smile. He took the drawing and placed it beside Whitneys poem above the fireplace. Colin stared up at the comic. It really was the perfect gift.双鸭山市部分中学2022-2023学年高一下学期期末考试

One of the greatest joys in exploring a new place is public art. Here are some places of public art in Santa Cruz County in California, USA.
Community Quiltage
Located downtown Santa Cruz, the Community Quiltage by artist Thomas Campbell puts Abbott Square and Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History (MAH) in colorful imagery. Beside the Quiltage is Beacon, an eye-catching hanging sculpture (雕像) reflected by mirrors, providing the image of a full circle.
Sharky-Go-Round
At the Tannery Art Center, you won’t want to miss Kirk McNeil’s interactive (互相影响的) piece, Sharky-Go-Round. The playful art around the Tannery will have you feeling like a kid again. Against a blue sky, Sharky-Go-Round will make you feel like you’re under the waves of the nearby Monterey Bay, looking at these sharks as they “swim” above you.
Watsonville Brillante
Truly a community effort, Watsonville Brillante is an ongoing project, led by artist and organizer Kathleen Crocetti. Designed by varying artists, the project represents the different cultural threads of Watsonville’s people and history. The community has come together to work on these pieces, changing an ordinary parking garage into a quilt of imagery.
To Honor Surfing
Walking along scenic West Cliff Drive, you’ll come across a Santa Cruz classic: the famous To Honor Surfing, sculpted in 1992 by Jeff Oberdorfer, and this surfer has been watching over the waves for over 30 years. And a fun little note: depending on the season or holiday, you just might find the “surfer” in some festival clothes, like Santa hat or pumpkin head.

A.At West Cliff Drive. B.In Tannery Art Center.
C.In downtown Watsonville. D.In downtown Santa Cruz.
22.Which artwork will have interactive effect with the visitors

There’s not a lot of mountain climbing happening in Minnesota. But it was his growing up in Detroit Lakes — visiting national parks with his family — that set Eddie Taylor up to join the first all-Black team of climbers training to take on Qomolangma next year. “I ran track in high school and I ended up going to Colorado and walking on the track team,” Taylor said during a conversation with MPR News host Cathy Wurzer. “Being out here next to the mountains, there’s lots and lots of climbing, lots of mountain areas and lots of rock climbing.”
Taylor is now a high school science teacher and track coach in Colorado and is training with a new group of nine Black climbers who hope to climb Qomolangma next spring. Led by experienced climber Phil Henderson, there are five other Black men on the team with Taylor. Abby Dione and Rosemary Saal finish off the group of nine as the two Black women climbers on the team.
It was a chance meeting with Henderson, the leader of the adventure, at a dog park in western Colorado that set Taylor up for this next adventure. “There’s not a lot of Black people out there in that part of Colorado,” he said. “I was walking my dog and we just ran into each other. We started to chat. And then we actually went ice climbing later on that day and ran into each other again.”
Of the 10, 000 climbers who have climbed Qomolangma, only 10 were Black, Taylor said. The team hopes to not only increase those numbers next year but increase awareness and access ( 接触的机会) to the outdoors for people of color.
“I visited national parks and I learned to ski ( 滑雪) at a young age, but I think that’s not typical for other climbers of color. Just to help inspire that next generation and to show that things are possible for people in our community makes it worth it.”
24.What personality does Taylor have according to the first paragraph
A.He has a strong sense of fairness. B.He is polite to others.
C.He is full of creativity. D.He has an adventurous spirit.
25.What do we know about Taylor’s climbing team
A.It is organized by high school teachers. B.It has not more than 10 members.
C.It has been training for a long time. D.It is an all-male group.
26.Which of the following best describes the first meeting of Henderson and Taylor
A.Unexpected. B.Unpleasant. C.Boring. D.Secret.
27.Why did Taylor want to climb Qomolangma
A.To encourage people to love nature. B.To achieve his childhood dream.
C.To stand up for people of color. D.To set a new world record.

Time travel is a favorite plot device in science fiction stories and movies. Perhaps the most famous recent series is Dr. Who, with its traveling Time Lords who whisk himself away throughout time as if traveling by jet. In other stories, the time travel is due to unexplainable circumstances such as a too-close approach to a very massive object like a black hole. However it is described in stories, it seems that traveling through time can always arouse people’s interest and stimulate their imaginations. But, is such a thing possible
It’s important to remember that we are always traveling into the future. That’s the nature of space-time. This is why we remember the past (instead of “remembering” the future). The future is largely unpredictable because it hasn’t happened yet, but everyone is headed into it all the time. To speed up the process, what would or could anyone do to make it happen It’s a good question without a definitive answer. Right now, no one has built a working time machine to travel temporally. While it’s not possible (yet) to travel to the future faster than the rate at which we’re doing it now, it is possible to speed up the passage of time. But it has only happened so far to very few people who have traveled off Earth’s surface. For them, time moves at an extremely small different rate. Could it happen over longer time spans
It might, theoretically. According to Einstein’s theory of special relativity, the passage of time is relative to an object’s speed. The more quickly an object moves through space, the more slowly time passes for it. The classic example of traveling into the future is the twin paradox(悖论). It works like this: take a pair of twins, each 20 years old. One takes off on a spaceship on a five-year journey traveling at nearly the speed of light. The traveling twin ages five years while on the journey and returns to Earth at the age of 25. However, the twin who stayed behind is 95 years old! The twin on the ship experienced only five years of time passing, but returns to an Earth that is much farther into the future.
Similarly, intense gravitational fields can have the same effect. Time passes more slowly for an observer inside a massive object’s gravitational well. The stronger the gravity, the more it affects the flow of time.
Astronauts on the International Space Station experience a combination of these effects, though on a much smaller scale. Since they are traveling quite quickly and orbiting around Earth (a massive body with significant gravity), time slows down for them compared with people on Earth. The difference is much less than a second over the course of their time in space. But, it is measurable.
Until we can figure out a way to approach the speed of light, or travel near black holes without falling in, we won’t be able to do time travel any significant way into the future.
28.The first paragraph is used to ________.
A.introduce the major topic of this article to readers
B.tell readers how time travel happens in the virtual world
C.show that time travel is impossible in the real world
D.arouse readers’ interest in time travel through black holes
29.The underlined sentence in the second paragraph means that astronauts in space have the opportunity to get involved in the ________ passage of time.
A.faster B.slower C.changeable D.invariable
30.What can you infer from the passage
A.It’s definitely impossible to travel faster into the future for lack of theorical supports.
B.Astronauts on missions can personally feel changes in the rate at which time passes.
C.The passage of time in a black hole is faster than what we experience on the earth.
D.Einstein’s theory of relativity can currently prove to be true by doing experiments.
31.Which of the following can be the best title for this article
A.Einstein’s Wrong Prediction of Time Travel
B.Speed and Gravity Define What Time Is
C.Time Travel: Dream or Possible Reality
D.The Twin Paradox: Determiner of Time Travel

第二节(满分25分)
The Perfect Gift
Colin walked through the mall with his head down. He couldn’t bear to look at another window display of great Christmas gifts he couldn’t afford. There were only a few days left until Christmas, and Colin still didn’t t have a present for his parents. He had only managed to save four dollars and seventeen cents. He counted the money in his pocket and sighed heavily.
“You look upset today, Colin. What is the matter ” Colin’s older sister Whitney asked.
Colin explained his problem to his sister.
“Why don’t you make them something ” Whitney suggested.
“Making presents is for babies,” Colin said. “Mom and Dad won’t like baby stuff.”
“Hey, that is not true. When I was your age, I wrote Mom and Dad a poem for Christmas. They loved it so much that they had it framed (给……做框),” Whitney said.
Colin knew that was true. The poem was hanging in the living room right above the fireplace. Mom and Dad often stood at the fireplace and read the poem to him. But Colin wasn’t good at writing poems, so that didn’t really help him.
“It doesn’t have to be a poem,” Whitney said, “It could be anything that makes them think of you whenever they look at it. That’s why homemade gifts are special — because they make you think of the person who made it.”
“But I don’t know how to make anything Mom and Dad would actually want!” Colin said, kicking a tiny stone across the parking lot.
Whitney opened the car door. “Yes, you do! You’re always drawing those funny little comics. Why don’t you do a family portrait(全家福) as a comic Mom and Dad would love it.”
“Maybe,” Colin said. He thought about the idea the whole way home. He even pictured how he would draw everyone.
