3. Work on 3b.
Make notes about two of your friends. One friend should be similar; the other friend should be different.

Write two paragraphs describing your friends.
Sample:
Janet is my good friend. She has beautiful eyes. She eats healthily and eats more fruit and vegetables than I do. However, I am more athletic than her because I do more exercise than her. Jane is quiet while I am very outgoing. She is a good listener, and she can keep secrets for me. Also, Janet likes helping others. She is very kind. Both of us like math very much, but she is better at it than me.
In some ways, we are the same, though in other ways, we are different. That is what makes us special and we like spending time with each other.
Give Ss 10 minutes to write their paragraphs. Have some Ss come to the front and read their paragraphs to the class.

5. Work on 4.
Read the job ad. Then compare two of your classmates. Decide which classmate is better for the job.

Two years ago, I was a primary school student. I am a middle school student now. A lot of things have changed. First, I am much taller, and I am thinner than before. I am also better at basketball because I am taller now. Second, I am busier than before because I have more homework to do, but I don’t think I am smarter.
However, I am as popular and outgoing as before, so I have more good friends. I also think I am a better student now.
6. Homework
1. Oral: Tell your parents the similarities and differences between you and your friends.
2. Written: Look at what you wrote for 3c and make it better.
