Lesson Plan Oxford English 5A Module 1 Unit 3 Topic: Froggy’s new job
Period: 1st period
Task: To be able to use the modelled sentences to identify the job a person wants to do in the future.
Background study and material analyses:
My students have learnt some words about jobs. For instance, teacher, firefighter, singer etc. In this period, the students are going to read and understand a story ‘Froggy’s job’, learn the new modelled sentences identify the job a person wants to do in the future. In addition, they are going to be aware of choosing a suitable job in the future.
Objectives:
1. To be able to read and understand the story.
2. To guess the meaning of some new words or in context. e.g., pilot, lifeguard
3. To be able to express the phrases ‘be good at…’ correctly to describe one’s ability. e.g., He is good at swimming.
4. To be aware of choosing a suitable job in the future.
Key points and Difficulty:
1. To be able to use the modelled sentences to identify the job a person wants to do. e.g., She wants to be a cook.
2.To be aware of choosing a suitable job in the future.

He can put out the fire. To use the sentence patterns ‘He/She is a /an…’ ‘He/She can…’ express they’ve learnt in Grade 4.

Match the pictures and the sentences. Read the whole story in groups. 1. Ss: Read the passage. Following the tape and read the sentences. 1. T: Froggy wants to be a pilot. To practice using the key patterns to retell the story
