Lead- in Activity 1-- ask students to tick what do you want to include in your diary about your first day at senior high. Individual work Share their ideas Establish the connection related to the topic
Pre-reading Activity2--make a prediction Look at the picture and guess what the author will write in his diary Predict and share The ability to make a prediction Spark the interest of reading
While -reading Activity3 --Read and try to make a summary Read the passage and find out what the author wrote in his diary about his first day at senior high Read and make a summary. cultivate students’ ability to read , find key words and capture the main idea
Activity 4--Choose Deal with exercise3 on p4 Finish the task Learn to master the main idea better
Activity5-Read again Find out the main structure divide this diary into four parts. Part1: Para1 Before going to school Part2: Para2 Arriving at school Part3: Para3-7 During the English class Part4: Para8 After the English class To develop thinking abilities, To figure out the structure of the passage.
Post- reading Activity 6 Complete exercise 4 on p4 Try to find them and write it down To find out detailed information Figure out the logic of the passage
